Day 744: One More Day Of The Hurricane Alex

You know that wise ole sayin, "If you don't have any fing good to say, say nuffin at all", well for that reason, I will be keepin some of my foughts to myself, and this is why...

Last we spoke on Day 743, I was minutes short of what I call my "chalk outline" position:

Fings remained calm for the rest of the evenin and up until about 330am, when I hop on the big bed to ask the Mom... "Do you feel that?". I am not sure of her answer on a counta it was just like the sweet nuffins of love talk, along wif some chin rubbins... but at 350am when the bottom dropped out of the storm clouds and the funder began to rumble... she knew I had not hopped on big bed for bed time story.

I quickly headed to the bunker for some whistlin and scratchin, and the Mom hopped up, turned the lights on [sorry, the Bleu!] and turned on the funeral music. At 6am, I decided the freat was over, and I was adamant about bein served the breakfast foods [work up quite a appetite when havin a nervous breakdown]!

We had a decent and relaxed, albeit tired feelin mornin until the funder did begin again round noon... It was not pretty. It breaks my the Mom's heart not to be able to comfort me, but the good news is that it is eventually over... And here are some images from the rest of the day:

Outta the bunker, but still nervous and pacin. I need to keep tabs on my the Mom!

If I look happy to you, it's on a counta we are havin a lengfy break in the funders... Unfortunately, I'm still pacin and pantin, and I know it's not completely over just yet.
Finally the storms have passed us, and me and the Bleu get to shnoof our tall grasses!

The Bleu shnoof some fing real interestin right here.

And I have found some fing shnoofy right about here!
And though this pitcher is a little blurry, I include it on a counta I am smilin... as I compose the blog post!

Pawnotes:

Day 726: Millin Around Tuesday!

... On a counta "we" were too busy to mill around or rather revel in our millins on Monday, because "we" had a deadline today. Whsshhhew. WE are relaxin tonight on a counta "we" do not have a nother deadline till two weeks from today, and that is two weeks a way. Just sayin.

So now I show you what happened while we were sweepin last night! Our night bloomin cereus gave us a big, beautiful bloom!
I fink... in pitchers, she look to me like fireworks. Yep, she kinda do.
I cannot express how special they seem, but they each are... and I hope you do not tire of seein em, on a counta we celebrate each bloom we are lucky enough to experience! And here she is from the side...
And now back to normal 'broadcastin' (ha)... The Mom was home at the usual time this afternoon, and me and the Bleu cannot be happier... wif the seein her, wif the timely dinners, wif the much more routine... 'routine'!
The Bleu is... ornery, still... wifout regard to gratitude for the timely and prompt any fing. It is a condition he has, and I am not the only one who say he have it. Neither is the Mom.

Even the very sweet and kind hearted Aunt Madison who love Big Boy like her own will tell you that the Bleu has got a ornery streak, big time. We all fink it is tied wif his unusual sense of humor and way of amusin heself... but some time the Bleu just play deaf!
He is really not, however, on a counta next minute he all over heself tryin to please you... He also fall for the classic "shakin berry treat bag" routine, as well as just the even very quiet words uttered, yea whispered, from the back door... "b e r r y   t r e a t s"... And the Bleu come a runnin!
As for the me, I make quick rounds of my investigations... and I'm ready to hang wif MY the Mom!
Old gal and I settle in to watch local news and, frankly, to suck some good toy [my bird in foreground; the Daisy skinny skwirrel in mouf; and my baby... aka Comet's "reindeer wif the candies for the feets" to my left].
I am comfy, yea relishin the Mom's free time... and I am finkin this has ALL ingredients of a perfect night! Woohooo! Factory demands do not start over again until tomorrow, so tonight we do our OWN fing... blog, vegetate, watch the tv and / or go shnooze blissfully...!

And then the FUNDER do start. And also therefore the FUNERAL MUSIC.

And I am in the BUNKER, scratchin... I'm anxious. The Mom is sad. And at some, most and/or almost all times, life's freakin variables are both unpredictable and uncontrollable.

Funder suck. Just sayin. And I'm out!

Day 668: May I Have A Roll Please...!

Ok, DRUM roll is not what I was askin for, but I guess it is fittin on a counta it is time to announce the winners of this fabulous Global Event!
And I do believe we are ALL winnners, on a counta what fun it has been to meet new folks. I have enjoyed ever single minute of it... well, except for today did not turn out quite like I had planned.

You see, we have had day of funderstorms today. My mood has swung between anxiety and exhaustion, and I have spent the day either in the bunker or hidin behind my first line of storm defense... The Bleu!
Ever time I start to Spin-the-Bleu, it start funderin again, and I have to retreat to the bunker. [Real time radar below. It not rainin here but I can sure hear the funder!]
And Big Boy is too exhausted (from stearin clear of the panic + funeral music all afternoon) to spin on he own... so we go wif Random Number Generator. It not nearly as fun as spinnin the Bleu... but yeu have to make deu on funderstorm days, I beg you please understand!

Now... DRUM roll please...!!!

And my Winner of the First Annual Global Animal Bloggin Event is... The beautiful SUGAR wif the heart face I adore!!!

Sugar, your prize includes a bed cover that was made wif love by a volunteer wif Golden Retriever Rescue of Houston, a bag of my very most favoritest Berry Treats and a surprise what I will select specially for the you! Day 638: Free Speech Friday (Also I Have Some Splainin To Do)

And first, the "splainin" part, on a counta my words I did not post on Wednesday was tooken way outta context!

You see... it is SPRING in the Houston, Texas; it is FUNDERSTORM season and these is my storm jammies what my the Aunt Karen made me!
I have a Storm Defender Cape but it kinda swaller me, it WAY too big. It really hard to dress me in it, too, when I'm in a panic. And ok... it's plain red. Not manly, ticularly. Not fashionable.

I much prefer my Storm Jammies, on a counta who made them for the me... and you cannot tell me that this is not manly fabric! Just sayin [I just wish my the Mom had matchin jammies! How fun would that be???!].

My the Mom has become quite the student/afficianado of all fings what might reduce my anxiety round the funderstorms. My first life did a real number on me, but I cooperate wif the Mom as best as I can under circumstances. Some fings what help a lot are not particulary pleasant for the her... but she does em.

Case in point: The music CD what accompany this book... through a Dog's Ear... works MIRACLES.

I am not lyin... The music soothe and comfort me like nuffin else... most specially when I'm in my jammies. The Mom call it "funeral music", and she happily listen to it on "loop"... on a counta IT WORK. [though it practically put the Bleu into a coma!]

Anyway, I mention all that to say this... Today was pretty day, and I enjoy surveyin my kingdom (and so do the Bleu who you can see shnoofin the mulch, beyond)!

Tomorrow, however, our forecast is for 80-90% chance of FUNDERSTORMS in early afternoon.

If there is good news, it is that storm is on a Saturday when the Mom can be home wif the me. The minor bad news is that she hopes to be at a GRRH Meet-N-Greet from 11am to 1pm. I know she will be THERE if she can, and HOME wif the me FOR SURE if I need the her!

And speakin of GRRH... I am moved to introduce MaryAnn!
MaryAnn was taken, along wif her littermates, into a shelter in Lousiana. Her siblins all had the longer hair of a pure bred Golden, and were adopted quickly. MaryAnn, though, was left sad and behind. She may not look EXACTLY like a Golden, but she has all the traits of one... and she sheds VERY little!

Please read more about MaryAnn... "In The Words of Her Foster Mom"!
Here is hopin that the perfect family will come along for the MaryAnn. She's a special girl. Bless her heart... she is like my the Mom... photos do not do her justice!

Not one of the photos on the website even resemble her. She is a "gotta meet her" kinda girl! And to meet her, is to fall in love... seriously. Give me a shout if you want to know more... or follow her trail onto the GRRH website!
