Day 638: Free Speech Friday (Also I Have Some Splainin To Do)

And first, the "splainin" part, on a counta my words I did not post on Wednesday was tooken way outta context!

You see... it is SPRING in the Houston, Texas; it is FUNDERSTORM season and these is my storm jammies what my the Aunt Karen made me!
I have a Storm Defender Cape but it kinda swaller me, it WAY too big. It really hard to dress me in it, too, when I'm in a panic. And ok... it's plain red. Not manly, ticularly. Not fashionable.

I much prefer my Storm Jammies, on a counta who made them for the me... and you cannot tell me that this is not manly fabric! Just sayin [I just wish my the Mom had matchin jammies! How fun would that be???!].

My the Mom has become quite the student/afficianado of all fings what might reduce my anxiety round the funderstorms. My first life did a real number on me, but I cooperate wif the Mom as best as I can under circumstances. Some fings what help a lot are not particulary pleasant for the her... but she does em.

Case in point: The music CD what accompany this book... through a Dog's Ear... works MIRACLES.

I am not lyin... The music soothe and comfort me like nuffin else... most specially when I'm in my jammies. The Mom call it "funeral music", and she happily listen to it on "loop"... on a counta IT WORK. [though it practically put the Bleu into a coma!]

Anyway, I mention all that to say this... Today was pretty day, and I enjoy surveyin my kingdom (and so do the Bleu who you can see shnoofin the mulch, beyond)!

Tomorrow, however, our forecast is for 80-90% chance of FUNDERSTORMS in early afternoon.

If there is good news, it is that storm is on a Saturday when the Mom can be home wif the me. The minor bad news is that she hopes to be at a GRRH Meet-N-Greet from 11am to 1pm. I know she will be THERE if she can, and HOME wif the me FOR SURE if I need the her!

And speakin of GRRH... I am moved to introduce MaryAnn!
MaryAnn was taken, along wif her littermates, into a shelter in Lousiana. Her siblins all had the longer hair of a pure bred Golden, and were adopted quickly. MaryAnn, though, was left sad and behind. She may not look EXACTLY like a Golden, but she has all the traits of one... and she sheds VERY little!

Please read more about MaryAnn... "In The Words of Her Foster Mom"!
Here is hopin that the perfect family will come along for the MaryAnn. She's a special girl. Bless her heart... she is like my the Mom... photos do not do her justice!

Not one of the photos on the website even resemble her. She is a "gotta meet her" kinda girl! And to meet her, is to fall in love... seriously. Give me a shout if you want to know more... or follow her trail onto the GRRH website!

Night 174: What House Look Like In Dark!

The Mom so funny... she run cross street in jammies and take photo of snow wif house you can't see beyond. Clearest thing you see is rectangle of trolley license plate in garage wif door open!

Tomorrow bein loud truck day, she take pitcher of gatherin snow like she never seen it before and maybe she ain't. Not sure.

And this bein the snow what gather on what left of the tree what Ike made fall on my house.

And this bein the house wif the Christmas lights what the Mom run back and turn on. I swear... she so funny! I just sit in warm house, shake head and marvel...

Nother pitcher comin up driveway. Can you even see what she shootin?

Snow what gather on shrub. Least now you can see somefin!

By way, while the Mom outside in her jammies, Uncle Jeff come out and make sure ever thing ok wif her and the Luke.

Good neighbors big comfort, good neighbors we got! And we need em... The Mom bit crazy bit unlucky, only so much the Luke can do to help. So Luke like havin back up!

Day 737: Synopsis Saturday

It has been a nother stressful week, between the Mom, her factory work and also the storms... If it it not the long hours, it seem to be the storms that stress us... but then there is also lingerin fings and ah-ohs what you drag behind you...

[Please to vote in the poll you will see on the right side bar!]!
It's weeks like this when you are fankful for the small moments... like when you witness first hand limberness of the Santa Jerry-Affe! Just sayin.
These happy moments some time get you frew when your brother the Bleu is horribly sick! You see, Big Furry Boy is prone to the hair balls... and when he come down wif one, you are pretty sure you know what it is... but you are worried it is obstruction or bloat, and in back of mind, you are scared.

Biggest symptom: Biggest Boy won't eat!
Treatment: Hand feed him pumpkin... when in season and available in the grocery store! When not... panic first, and then try to fink of some irresistible some fing he might like what will lube him...

I get to the bottom of fings right quick, and I can confirm source of the Bleu breaf:
No need to tuna-foot a round. I know what you did when I was out of doors!!!
And all's well that ends really well... and I am relieved that the Big Boy is feelin better.

Now I can concentrate on wishin the weather would calm down and give me some peace...
I mean... If I could control the weather...
Trust me. There would be BIG smiles all a round!!!
Alas, however... I have no control, whatsoever. And today... with less than 10% chance of rain, but just like all days this week... we have funder storms.

And that mean funeral music and
jammies... but I have blow-out in my jammies, so have to wear storm cape what is so no so fashionable. Just sayin.
And big loud boombooms come rollin in right at time Ghana scores first goal on USA today. I mark occasion wif the scratchin and whistlin in the bunker. Storm roll past me, but that just mean I hear the raff and not the rain. Just sayin.

The Mom comfort and cajole me as best she can... but in the end, we are neither one happy... Just sayin.

But I get over fings pretty quick when I hungry!!!
And NOW I'm ready to go out! [The Mom will need to get me out of my storm cape, however... on a counta these are not to be worn out of doors!]
Yep... long emotional week. Lots of work. Lots of exhaustion. Lots of distractions.
I wish I could decide how to feel...  Please to help me! Please to vote in my poll... on the right side bar!!

And in the meantime, I love gettin to know folks wif lots of common emotions and experiences, so... Let's HOP!!!

Day 279: Love the Jammies!

I love my new jammy what the Aunt Karen make me... but not sure why the Mom hustle me into them as bad weather close in!

Scratch just once in bafroom... but so comfy in my jammy, feel safe settlin in for good night sweep right here on bafroom floor (till the Mom wake me up for some shmugglin...)!

Day 297: Easter Is Special, But This Morning Loud!

Woke up wif hopes this day would be good and happy day, but it cloudy and gloomy and my instinct tole me keep paff to bunker clear. And I spend mornin alternately venturin ever so tentatively to the out of doors... and nervously suckin on toy...

Then the Mom put me in my jammies... and lo and behole, rumble rumble RUMBLE boom boom BOOM. And even GRRH cookies won't get me out of baffroom now!

(Hope Easter Bunny in bunker of he own!)

Day 269:

The Aunt Karen and Uncle Craig, Zeke and Rizzo give me Happy Hips!!!
And my Aunt Dav celebrate wif me and the Mom!

And they also give me green fire hydrant what make funny noise!!!
Hope the Mom don't never push this off bed in middle of night,
on a counta it hysterical when it shake!!!

Oooooohhhh... ahhhhhhh...
and the Aunt Karen make me some jammies!!!
(what they say bout storm??? why I thought storm gone!!!)

I feel like such special boy all ways,
and never made secret bout how much I love the Aunt Karen...
but now she gone and done this(???)... not to mention my cake.

HEY!!! WHERE'S THE REST OF MY CAKE?????!!!

Aunt Dav give me Grinny what I can tell you right now... good suckin! And just so the Bleu don't feel the left out, she also give me (ok, we share...) the rolly polly piggy!

Good suckin boaf em... in spite of sharin. Just sayin.

Day 653: Successful Saturday!

Ever Successful Saturday must begin wif the Friday night preparation... and here's how I helped.
Noone was goin in or out that door wifout my approval. Just sayin.

And here is how the Bleu spend he Friday night:
Don't ask me. I don't understand either... but this is way Big Boy like to sweep.

Please also note that he has gargantuan bed wif he name embroidered on it... and he still prefer this bed what was my birfday bed last year or the one you see at left in the photo what was our Easter bed last year so I could have a place to sweep not that I mind the Bleu hoggin LITTLE beds. Just sayin.

Anyway... I have lotsa the blog business on a counta

I spent the evenin visitin boaf new and old friends and readin all kinda fun tails and even learnin a lot... but here I am takin a break:
And since we were comin up on a GRRH Meet-n-Greet Event today, me and the Mom went to bed early... [The Bleu was all ready there!]

And now here is the best part... The Meet-N-Greet was a huge success on a counta two sweet boys met their Forever Families today!

And here is the Murray, a very sweet, handsome, laid back Golden mix boy who has been wif GRRH for many monfs. This boy has been frew a lot wif the sickness and heartworms... but he is 100% healfy and happy now... specially happy on a counta he is wif the sweetest Mom and Dad tonight... Sniifle. Feel so good it kinda bring tears to my manly eyes...
The Buddy, who is a recent intake (not even have chance to go on website) also meet his Forever Family today! My the Mom was wishin his family woulda adopted all of us... so trust me, the Bud Man is in the paradise tonight!
And because my the Mom is GRRH web"master", I have access to some pretty embarassin photos... The Buddy is a good natured boy, so I hope he'll understand... but here is the Buddy in he sweepiness! What that boy need is a comfy pair of jammies... but I digress!
Nother real sweet fellow what was at the big event today... is the Wyatt! This super handsome fellow (according to the Mom and other women folk) was found as a stray far far from Houston, and frew some extraordinary circumstances... he is now part of the GRRH Family!

This gentle boy was diagnosed wif the heartworms, but first order of "business" was to neuter him. It was not such easy fing (on a counta over my head terminology) but in course of doin so, it discovered that Sweet Boy only has one kidney. So... he live wif very kind vet while he go frew the two monf split heartworm treatment.

I am happy to report that he is heartworm free, a calm boy who get along wif ever other dog, he love the people and he just all round HAPPY!!! This boy is now in a very special Foster Family, but I just know his Forever is right a round the corner!!!
The Phoebee was also at the Meet-n-Greet. And she have a real good time. She love all the people and most especially all the children. Because of some stuff in her past (human error) this sweet girl is just NOT crazy bout other doggies. It is somefing for GRRH trainers to help her wif... but good news for today is that this former backyard resident is enjoyin her first night as an indoor doggy... fanks to her wonderful new Foster Family!!!
And nother real wonderful fing is that the Mom got to meet the Gunner and his the Mom. More on that in a later post!

So fast forward... The Mom come home to me and the Bleu and she get teu reactions:

The Bleu want to sniff ever inch of her clothin to make sure she has not been wif he herd.

And I fink: when are we dyin the Easter eggs. you are late.
The Bleu is funny boy. He pile heself up in the big bed. And the Mom fink he so cute, she take pitcher...
when she realize outta her peripheral vision... somefing else is happenin! [Biggify if you cannot see... and look top right of pitcher].
It might not seem like the much, but we are all kinda tired! I fink it gonna be early night and that is my favorite kind, on a counta...
Early to bed and early to rise
Get Hungry Boy fed he breakfast quicker.
Just sayin!

Day 156: Random Thoughts

Saturdays are confusin for me. Go to bed same time Friday night as all others but not posed to wake up same time Saturday mornin?

Guess not by way of hearin the adjective the Mom used when she announced the time of my complete impatience... "six duckin fifteen", she said. Hey, I gave her an hour reprieve... our normal time is five duckin fifteen!

1. Breakfast on Saturday mornin might be bit later than usual. One hour late is bout my maximum.

2. Feel it my job to make sure the Mom know it daylight. Just sayin.

3. When the Mom go back to sleep after mornin routine... good idea upon her risin, to dance to food bowl. Never know. She might forget she already served breakfasts.

4. Watchin her work never fun but some time sighin and always scratchin make her stop. Note to self.

5. Imperative to point out workers in yard next door just in case they not posed to be there. Never know. Some time random electricians try fix problem neighbor don't really have. Good to have a Luke to try make their job miserable.

6. Fun too, to have the Mom chase you cross yard in jammies... though it also kinda barassin. Just sayin.

Day 303: How Spent Day

In jammies wif the wild eyes... and either pacin, under the Mom foot or in bunker.

I exhausted now and just can't wait to go to and hog big bed like did last night!

Just sayin.

Day 302: Not Pretty Afternoon

Thunder should be a four letter word and I said a few of em this afternoon!

In past, the Mom give me drug to help me frew storm but we tryin just
jammies now and I gotta say, I not feel need to have nervous breakdown until storm over the head. And while I dig and panic somewhat bad today... it not near bad as in past.

In my defense, use imagination... storm movin soufwest to norfeast and this radar image bout 5 hour past my meltdown. I not get worst and I grateful for it. I just put this image up on a counta you might think I just storm pansy!

Tomorrow posed to be bad, too... so it prolly gonna be jammy day and that bitter on a counta I hate storm... and sweet on a counta I know the Mom not leave me here (wif the Bleu) alone!

Day 285: What????!, Part Three

GRRH diggin bigger deeper hole wif the me! Now I find out that the Buddy on the other side of the chip!

...

...But the Mom have long talk wif me and I know she right on two counts:

First, there are so many very special boys and girls out there who had their lives turn round by GRRH. And pity is there are so many more who need it.

This fund raiser not bout those who out playin poker till wee hour of night... nor not bout those who home in jammies wif full belly, soft bed, a/c crankin and... animal planet.

No, this bout all those who still need help. Those what still need home like what me and the Buddy have... So Luke check he ego at bedroom door. And I sorry for what I say before.

And two, the Buddy congenial all the time, day and night. And the Mom say when he got tired playin the poker, he sprawl out and take nap... She also point out she know what the Luke woulda done... and I gotta admit, that woman know me and she right.

I woulda stare at her till burn hole in her retina... make ever gesture and take ever opportunity to lead her to door and to trolley and to way home.

You see... I spend 8 plus years livin mostly out of doors, then all most 10 months in kennel just hopin for home of dreams. Well, now I got it! And while I like goin places and doin things... when I ready go home, I ready go home!

Can blame me?

Day 114: One Good Thing About Not Being Trusted

You're not left home alone to rip out your stitches! Instead, you go with the Mom to run her Saturday errands!

We got up early, ate our breakfastes, did our businesses and got dressed... well, the Mom did. I stayed in my jammies, bein as how I'm still recoverin and all...

Then while the temperature was still 66 degrees, we boarded the trolley and off we went to new and far away places:

First Stop: Foods Store... I sat in the car in a "prince's parking spot" while the Mom made what she referred to as first seed qualifyin time sweep through the store for bounty. When she came out, I was sittin calm as could be, just where she left me. I did quickly make attempts to root through the bags, however!

Second Stop: Petco... I went in with the Mom and if I may say so myself, I was a very good boy. I minded my own manners, didn't knock anything over, and was pleased wif my purchases. The Mom bought me Buddy Biscuits Veggie Madnesses (upset they had no Molasses Madnesses), Buddy Sweet Potato Chips (ain't tried em yet, but if Buddy likes em I prolly will too), three bags o pill pockets (whoa... how many more pills do I have to take???) and a new baby I love who goes by name of Rudy.

Third Stop. Bank... I didn't get to talk to the tell-her this time, since we just went through the part where the Mom puts a thing in this swell and generous machine and moneys come out. She says we gotta pay the tree man in moneys. And he's supposed to be here this afternoon.

And then we rounded the trolley back to home, where I deboarded first and sniffed around in the front yard then went inside and worried about Rudy still in the trolley...

But the Mom bustled bout and brought in Rudy and foods. And then I wanted to go outside and did and came in and took a long nap wif Rudy while tree man made a mess in our yards.

And now the Mom who's been gimpy for weeks wif her herniated disk right through her hip and down to her little toe and the one next to it (not that she's complainin... and I wouldn't be caught sayin she has)... is waitin till it cools off a little to start draggin a heapin round four to the front of the house that just got cleaned.

I'd help but I just had surgery, am on drugs, ain't trusted off leash and wouldn't be much help on leash. Just sayin'...

Day 245: Focus

The Mom been spendin lots o time on other things ok GRRH and so I can't complain not too much. But when when she leave for factory this very mornin she say tonight is "my" (meanin Luke... ok, meanin Luke and Bleu) night, so we happy and not neiver of us lick or chew hole in skin... That our way of sayin we know you love us and we wait patiently while you go try make money to pay our bills. And so we do.

All that said, this picture blurry on a counta the Mom come home and still not able to focus on the us.

Between landscaper who here when she come home... and two loose dogs on street what she got secure and find owner and safely deliver home at 915pm... she rub our heads and say sweet nuffins.

Ain't the same as havin unrestricted backyard access and the Mom in her jammies at 7pm but sometime gotta flect on back before the Mom was the Mom... and it pretty darn good lay up on big bed while the Mom deliver two cute and scared and lost doggies back to their home. Just sayin.
