Day 653: Successful Saturday!

Ever Successful Saturday must begin wif the Friday night preparation... and here's how I helped.
Noone was goin in or out that door wifout my approval. Just sayin.

And here is how the Bleu spend he Friday night:
Don't ask me. I don't understand either... but this is way Big Boy like to sweep.

Please also note that he has gargantuan bed wif he name embroidered on it... and he still prefer this bed what was my birfday bed last year or the one you see at left in the photo what was our Easter bed last year so I could have a place to sweep not that I mind the Bleu hoggin LITTLE beds. Just sayin.

Anyway... I have lotsa the blog business on a counta

I spent the evenin visitin boaf new and old friends and readin all kinda fun tails and even learnin a lot... but here I am takin a break:
And since we were comin up on a GRRH Meet-n-Greet Event today, me and the Mom went to bed early... [The Bleu was all ready there!]

And now here is the best part... The Meet-N-Greet was a huge success on a counta two sweet boys met their Forever Families today!

And here is the Murray, a very sweet, handsome, laid back Golden mix boy who has been wif GRRH for many monfs. This boy has been frew a lot wif the sickness and heartworms... but he is 100% healfy and happy now... specially happy on a counta he is wif the sweetest Mom and Dad tonight... Sniifle. Feel so good it kinda bring tears to my manly eyes...
The Buddy, who is a recent intake (not even have chance to go on website) also meet his Forever Family today! My the Mom was wishin his family woulda adopted all of us... so trust me, the Bud Man is in the paradise tonight!
And because my the Mom is GRRH web"master", I have access to some pretty embarassin photos... The Buddy is a good natured boy, so I hope he'll understand... but here is the Buddy in he sweepiness! What that boy need is a comfy pair of jammies... but I digress!
Nother real sweet fellow what was at the big event today... is the Wyatt! This super handsome fellow (according to the Mom and other women folk) was found as a stray far far from Houston, and frew some extraordinary circumstances... he is now part of the GRRH Family!

This gentle boy was diagnosed wif the heartworms, but first order of "business" was to neuter him. It was not such easy fing (on a counta over my head terminology) but in course of doin so, it discovered that Sweet Boy only has one kidney. So... he live wif very kind vet while he go frew the two monf split heartworm treatment.

I am happy to report that he is heartworm free, a calm boy who get along wif ever other dog, he love the people and he just all round HAPPY!!! This boy is now in a very special Foster Family, but I just know his Forever is right a round the corner!!!
The Phoebee was also at the Meet-n-Greet. And she have a real good time. She love all the people and most especially all the children. Because of some stuff in her past (human error) this sweet girl is just NOT crazy bout other doggies. It is somefing for GRRH trainers to help her wif... but good news for today is that this former backyard resident is enjoyin her first night as an indoor doggy... fanks to her wonderful new Foster Family!!!
And nother real wonderful fing is that the Mom got to meet the Gunner and his the Mom. More on that in a later post!

So fast forward... The Mom come home to me and the Bleu and she get teu reactions:

The Bleu want to sniff ever inch of her clothin to make sure she has not been wif he herd.

And I fink: when are we dyin the Easter eggs. you are late.
The Bleu is funny boy. He pile heself up in the big bed. And the Mom fink he so cute, she take pitcher...
when she realize outta her peripheral vision... somefing else is happenin! [Biggify if you cannot see... and look top right of pitcher].
It might not seem like the much, but we are all kinda tired! I fink it gonna be early night and that is my favorite kind, on a counta...
Early to bed and early to rise
Get Hungry Boy fed he breakfast quicker.
Just sayin!

Day 638: Free Speech Friday (Also I Have Some Splainin To Do)

And first, the "splainin" part, on a counta my words I did not post on Wednesday was tooken way outta context!

You see... it is SPRING in the Houston, Texas; it is FUNDERSTORM season and these is my storm jammies what my the Aunt Karen made me!
I have a Storm Defender Cape but it kinda swaller me, it WAY too big. It really hard to dress me in it, too, when I'm in a panic. And ok... it's plain red. Not manly, ticularly. Not fashionable.

I much prefer my Storm Jammies, on a counta who made them for the me... and you cannot tell me that this is not manly fabric! Just sayin [I just wish my the Mom had matchin jammies! How fun would that be???!].

My the Mom has become quite the student/afficianado of all fings what might reduce my anxiety round the funderstorms. My first life did a real number on me, but I cooperate wif the Mom as best as I can under circumstances. Some fings what help a lot are not particulary pleasant for the her... but she does em.

Case in point: The music CD what accompany this book... through a Dog's Ear... works MIRACLES.

I am not lyin... The music soothe and comfort me like nuffin else... most specially when I'm in my jammies. The Mom call it "funeral music", and she happily listen to it on "loop"... on a counta IT WORK. [though it practically put the Bleu into a coma!]

Anyway, I mention all that to say this... Today was pretty day, and I enjoy surveyin my kingdom (and so do the Bleu who you can see shnoofin the mulch, beyond)!

Tomorrow, however, our forecast is for 80-90% chance of FUNDERSTORMS in early afternoon.

If there is good news, it is that storm is on a Saturday when the Mom can be home wif the me. The minor bad news is that she hopes to be at a GRRH Meet-N-Greet from 11am to 1pm. I know she will be THERE if she can, and HOME wif the me FOR SURE if I need the her!

And speakin of GRRH... I am moved to introduce MaryAnn!
MaryAnn was taken, along wif her littermates, into a shelter in Lousiana. Her siblins all had the longer hair of a pure bred Golden, and were adopted quickly. MaryAnn, though, was left sad and behind. She may not look EXACTLY like a Golden, but she has all the traits of one... and she sheds VERY little!

Please read more about MaryAnn... "In The Words of Her Foster Mom"!
Here is hopin that the perfect family will come along for the MaryAnn. She's a special girl. Bless her heart... she is like my the Mom... photos do not do her justice!

Not one of the photos on the website even resemble her. She is a "gotta meet her" kinda girl! And to meet her, is to fall in love... seriously. Give me a shout if you want to know more... or follow her trail onto the GRRH website!

21. And now it seem over.
22. And all good but the Mom back workin on the compy... (should take poll.. is livin under bridge so bad??? I think the Mom be ok there, and she could always come over and visit me and the Bleu at the Aunt Madison's or the Aunt Karen's...! Two of them not mind me havin day company not one bit whatsoever, I sure.)

23. I lay in study wif her, but just to be safe... I keep head under library table aka next best thing to bunker.

Day 303: How Spent Day

In jammies wif the wild eyes... and either pacin, under the Mom foot or in bunker.

Just sayin.

Day 303: Bad Day, Very Bad Day

Most my days so good need nip myself make sure I not dreamin, but this one... not of those.

In the stead of radar snapshot I offer you photo what the Mom took few hours ago... (When get over shock of flood, it funny to note latest collection of Bleu sticks on table!)

As you see, this not good time to go out and do business but that not issue on a counta I in bunker wif nervous breakdown!

And the Bleu in middle of mid-afternoon snooze so he not concerned.

Risin waters to bout half way up "oh my dog" door mat and getting close to bein in house wif us... (the Mom got nice toe... no?)

And then out front river run frew it! Did this yesterday too and saw it wif my own eyes... but o-heck-to-the-no today... I not leave bunker to look at nuffin!

Day 302: Not Pretty Afternoon

Thunder should be a four letter word and I said a few of em this afternoon!

In past, the Mom give me drug to help me frew storm but we tryin just
jammies now and I gotta say, I not feel need to have nervous breakdown until storm over the head. And while I dig and panic somewhat bad today... it not near bad as in past.

In my defense, use imagination... storm movin soufwest to norfeast and this radar image bout 5 hour past my meltdown. I not get worst and I grateful for it. I just put this image up on a counta you might think I just storm pansy!

Tomorrow posed to be bad, too... so it prolly gonna be jammy day and that bitter on a counta I hate storm... and sweet on a counta I know the Mom not leave me here (wif the Bleu) alone!
