Day 890: Friday Mornin Feedin Frenzy & Fun (Before & After)

Me and the Bleu woke the Mom up early this mornin, wif the excitement that we could no longer conceal... on a counta we knew The Herd was just on the other side of our bedroom door!
It's not yet quite daylight, but the sky is beautiful and clear... and the temperature is brisk and cold!
Best fing about early mornins in the country is sniffin all the critters what have passed this way over night. We have seen dozens of deer... and after dark last night, they were snortin at us as we took our "last call"!
I could stay out here all mornin... or until my tummy begins to growl!

I fink there is not much better inside place than the Kitchen at Campo Blanco. I mean... It is good INSIDE sniffin!!!
Add the Frenzy, and it is one hip and excitin place to be... especially this time of day!
Today our Kitchen is under the direction of Master Chef Tom... of Mister T Day Spa fame... and he is also the most special uncle EVER... to me and the Bleu!
No pitchers of the actual feed bowl dispersal, but I'll tell you... We all enjoyed it, and made quick work of cleanin the bowls! Then we were out for After Tasty Breakfast Foods Constitutional!

The Bleu utilizes the time to hone his 'lookin cute' skills...

I, on the other paw, am on a business trip.
The Mom says it's kinda hard to photograph us when we are leashed up, so I frow her a tiny bone by turnin my head for the pitcher.
Enough. Let's go!
I LOVE bein here, but every chance I get... I check out the trolley. If it is to depart, I want to make sure I have my ticket handy. Just sayin.
Beyond the cooperative head turn a minute ago, I am really not in the mood for the flashy beast... so I set about duckin my head and foilin the shots...
There is a delay between the setup and actual capture, and I am a master at dodgin the full face shot... so the Mom is frilled when she spin us in a wide circle wif hope to catch a side glance!
The Bleu is usually pretty cooperative wif the pitchers, so long as it only involves his own self... His only photogenic fault is that the pitcher must be framed perfectly in order to fit Big Boy in his entirety. Just sayin.
And I guess I had a lapse in my awareness on a counta the Mom zipped around in front of me for this shot!
It's ok... we're on our way back to the warmf of the inside. I hear talk of roasted bird and other good eats, as well as naps and a long walk! It's hard to say what I'm lookin forward to more!

Wishin you a Golden Black Friday!!!

Day 809: Big Bang, Baff, Big Booms & Bunker

Our day starts off wif a big bang as we board the trolley for a big surprise adventure, and my excitement grows when I realize we are headed in the direction of Campo Blanco and not any where near Casa de Doctor Mark!

And I was not disappointed when the trolley came to rest at the House of the Herd, and me and the Bleu quickly de-board and trotted off to meet our friends for a romp in their private dog park!

The Bleu had a big time, but I immediately began prognosticatin... I did not like one bit at all what my barometer was tellin me, and I was pretty happy when we all gathered back up to return to...

Oh, no. I almost forgot that House of the Herd on the front... is Mister T Day Spa in the back!
The cool water felt good on this hot day, and the suds and attention took my mind [momentarily] off of the darkenin skies.
Buddy has the right idea. He is inside playin the rug, on a counta he know that rugs don't get baffs.
Why am I first? If I'd had a little warnin, this would not be happenin!
Meanwhile, Dylan and Cane are waitin their turns wif the eagerness of good boys. I promise you, nobody like a good baff like the Cane!
Am I finner than you fought under all my fur???
There is the Bleu workin up his nerve to whisper the sweet nuffins to his girlfriend, the Porter. She is easy to pick out in this pitcher, on a counta she is the only girl!
It won't be long now... I'm on the Rinse Cycle.
Aha ha ha ha. And now it is Big Boy's turn!

Gosh. He's skinny, but he's HUGE! And just like me, he love Uncle Tom, errrrr... Mister T!
I have been brushed and towel dried, but I am nervous nervous nervous. The skies are darkenin; the wind is pickin up; and the peoples are conductin spa business like certain doom is not impending whatsoever.
Me and the Bleu love the attention and sweet nuffins said to us by our the Aunt Madison!

Now...
Weatherwise, fings went from mildly upsettin to pretty darn bad quickly. And as much as we hated runnin off and leavin our good friends and family, we abruptly took the Express Trolley [in which I had my first mobile nervous breakdown] back home.

I spent the rest of the day, cocktail in my belly and fundershirt on my back, in the bunker wif my the Mom.

I have come out long enough to eat dinner, do little businesses and write you this note.
I am now back in my shirt, as another band of rain is passin frew. We can hear it rumblin, but it's not nearly as bad as before. Please to the T.S. Hermine, turn the noise down so we can get some sweep tonight!

Oh. And in case you were wonderin.
That spot on the Bleu nose do not wash off!
Just sayin.

Day 716: Saturday Matinee

My the Mom is workin some crazy hours, so I have been busy pickin up her slack and  also organizin my foughts, pitchers and such from the days I was "roughin it" at the Campo Blanco! [roughin it = no wi-fi!].

So I will be a bit lazy today and offer you up a movin pitcher glimpse of...

"The Luke Runs Frew It"

After Words:

The Blanco River has a limestone bottom wif many channels and grooves and varyin depfs. It was my charge to maintain a pace such that the Mom would not fall... as she held her end of the leash, the camera and had to watch where she was next to put her foot!

The river banks vary from sleepy to steep grassy hills to limestone cliffs, and are privately owned... at least in the areas we hiked. What you heard was indeed someone mowing. Sorry!

And now it's time to hop!

Day 714: Finkin Fursday... And A Favor, Pretty Please

Today I am finkin about my eleven days of  Paradise. It was such a special time that I wish I could share ever single moment wif you [and once I'm finished you will fink I have], on a counta I really do wish I could share these exact kinds of moments wif each of you...

I mean, I treasure tenderly touchin paws wif my compadre, the Cousin Dylan...

And then there were the times we were just all hangin out, millin about, challengin the Camp Counselors to a game of hop skotch to get from Point A to Point B. [Below: Dylan, left front. The Luke, center. Atlas, in doorway. Cane, standin beyond].
There were times of frenzy when someone mistakenly uttered forbidden word: "hungry", "food", "dinner", "breakfast", "Is it time?"... [From left to right: Uncle Tom who I love love LOVE, The Cousins Dakota, Buddy and Dylan... and Yours Truly, The Luke. Please note that the well behaved Campers among us... Atlas, Cane, Porter and The Bleu did not miss out on anyfing but the photo op!].
I've shared glimpses of the walks and the river hikes, and I have much more to show you... but today I would like to show you a selection of the fings I found beautiful... And I start wif my view from the bluff, lookin down river.

And now lookin slightly up river...

Then down river again...

And down river once more [don't get dizzy] so you can see the deer across the river [center]!

A kind of just across the river pitcher just because you can see the limestone bottom so well...
My the Mom really preciated the textures of the grow-ees at the tippy top of the bluff.
And here is a zoomy of the holly. [There was also abundant rosemary upon which I forougly enjoyed aromas and the Camp Counselors did dine... pitcher later if I find it!].
And here's a hole in my favorite tree... more on it later.
Just one of a bunch of pitchers of deer, taken from the screened in porch...
Time is precious. Nobody knows that better than me. And I hope you know how much I love each and every one of you and please know I am fankful for ever minute you share wif me, frew your own bloggy and the time you spend here...

And now I ask you this favor, pretty please...
You all know I keep a paw-written journal, blog by "Day Number", have been hamstringed by lack of the wi-fi, and limited to one [iphone camera] photo post per day. So...

In order to keep my Diary in order... I will be backtracking and filling in additional posts on the days I was wifout means to post. And now I must ask you this favor...

Pretty Please to view and read and comment? It was good time for me, and I hope I will make interestin for the you wif the movin and also still pitchers, etc. I just so wish you each had been there...

Or that we each could plan such a trip to be together!!! Now there's a fought!

Day 702: Happy May 22nd!

[Please to indulge me in this back-post to 22 May, when I was on luxurious holiday at Campo Blanco!]

We are very excited about what lies before us and really what lies just outside our bedroom door... the Herd! So we wake up early and are excited to get the day started!
The Mom is so excited that she take this fabulous 15 second video to commemorate occasion... the silly silly Mom.
The awake Campers gather together on the screened in porch, doin our best to be quiet so the restful can still rest!
You can all ways pick out the Porter amongst our cousin pack... on a counta we're all boys and she's a girl! And don't she look like a Princess lollin up there on the sofa???
We had a really peaceful and relaxed day, no stresses, no schedules... just tasty foods, lazy naps and good conversations. Noone was in a hurry to do much of any fing... well, except for the Atlas who make his impromptu break for the river! That boy had a date wif it...and he just couldn't wait!!!

Atlas is Bleu Healer / German Shepherd mix heck of a sweet boy wif a intense personality, and he is ALL about findin and diggin up the rocks... errrr, boulders... in the river! He barks when he finds one. He digs. And he sticks his head under water for as long as it takes to pull up the bounty!

This is a video of a failed attempt, but it shows his methodology... stay tuned on a counta in later days, I'll share his success!
I napped in the comfort of the air conditionin while the Aunt Madison, Aunt/Cousin Becca, Atlas and my the Mom hiked up the river and back.
You see, the Camp Counselors have been reluctant to allow the Campers down to the river on a counta... the last time we were all here, there were a number of unsupervised dogs... just like these two here who are handsome boys wif collars and all, but are runnin loose along the river. Atlas was a good boy and had a good exchange, and we are relieved that the frisbee he found was not theirs. Just sayin.
We went on many walks durin the day, and I shnoofed lotsa wildlife and other fings. And this is one of the Mom's primary views... on a counta she was equipped wif two cameras and was sincerely tryin to capture the esssence of our paradise [which for her means any time she spends wif me and the Bleu].
Say what? Who is on wrong side of door just now? [the Cane!]
Me and the Bleu, wif very rare exception, went out in a pair. We make a pretty good team and do reasonably well on leash together. I mean, I'm a bit serious and he's a bit silly... but still, we get a long!
Seem like all ways some body on right / wrong side of door, monitored in this moment by the Cane [layin down], Dylan and Dakota [wif kerchief].
Me and the Bleu, outside the fray!
Beyond you will see Cane [facin camera], Dylan, Dakota, Aunt Madison wif the Buddy behind her... and the Bleu pointin toward the me [and also the forbidden kitchen].
Synchronicity. This is first day we are all together, so we are still tryin to sync our wake/sleep/eat cycles... so while me and the Bleu eat early dinners, we are now takin a bit of a time apart on the screened in porch while the other Campers dine!
We know what they are doin out there. And we want to eat dinner... again!!!
Really, we do!!!
Wif utmost respect to my sweet Cousin/Aunt Becca, I will stop the pitcher sharin now... This night, we begin to celebrate her birfday tomorrow! My the Mom is ultra sensitive bout such fings, and so wifout the Becca's express permission, I will not publish!
