Day 630: The Balance of Nature / The Yard is Half Overgrown!

This in response to your question, "Is my yard half dead or half overgrown?"... You will see me and the Bleu snoofin our way along huge clusters of clover and also unsightlier weeds. And while we are examinin, our old pre-Ike fence wif the post-Ike fence behind looks half sad, don't it? [Just sayin].
We were told that this extremely cold winter would kill weeds but that is so not true, so we gonna have to do the "weed-n-feed" treatment this weekend, for sure. And tomorrow, Landscape Dude will be here to try and make at least the yard portion of the viewing area presentable!

We need to also formulate plan to cut back and pray for... and/or... replace all the tropicals what we have in the back yard (what is A LOT!). Here is the Bleu sniffin the bottom (naked) branches of a Texas Sage shrub. It will be ok, but behind the him lies a once lush tree philodendron. This is a beautiful plant, but is poisonous if ingested... so the Mom micromanages it's care ALL WAYS and is somewhat conflicted about whether to have all of them (about a dozen) dug up and disposed of... or whether to cut them back and see if they fluorish.
On the overgrown side of the yard... is our jasmine. Just look at it climbin up in the crape myrtle and another tropical! Of course, it not bloomin so much along fence line (where it sposed to)... but still I say... half bloomin!
The Bleu... he is funny boy. And ever body say he is so cute! He is surrounded here by dead stuff, overgrown stuff and a mysterious majestic orb of unexplained energy. (We welcome feedback from all of you who know more a bout stuff like that).
Or maybe it's the Yard's way of sayin... "Holy Crap, the Luke missed a pecan!!!"!
Whoa... What that you say???... Luke miss somefin???
[Note from the Mom: In the Luke's defense... He may have missed a pecan in the yard, but he dug up, rushed inside and proudly produced one that had quite obviously been buried by a squirrel. The Luke calls that "the Balance of Nature".]

You know there are dogs that are trained to find "truffles." I think The Luke has self trained himself to find pecans and all other things good and delicious in and around his turf! :-)

We think your yard looks like the perfect world for the two Goldies. Lady gives it a "two paws" up for snoofibility.

Tropicals are always fun - they can be remarkable at taking over. Maybe it's time for carefully aimed pee sessions. :)
