Day 853 - 854 - 855: Feelin Great!

I felt a little puny for a few days this week, but that was the M Vaccine doin it's fing... and as of yesterday, I am pleased to announce that The Luke is back and fully in the saddle! I am lively, in to ever fing, followin the Mom around like all ways and stayin busy. I am happy and feelin great!

Breedin aside, I'm not much of a retriever. Frow a ball or frisbee... and I will assume you did not want it. I won't waste your time or mine bringin it back to you. So in matters of retrieval, I depend on the Mom... And fank Friday on a counta the Old Gal finally retrieved the Day 853-855 pitchers off the flashy fing! So, here goes...

Day 853

Hangin wif the St Francis...!
Wink!
Dusk shnoofins.

Day 854
Feeling Good Fursday in Full Swing!

Confession Time: I plucked the eyeballs off the pink hen yesterday.
 Me and the Blind Hen:

Day 855

Takin a break from the Traditional Friday Family Nap... to chill in the other room.

I love my babies. [Please to forgive laundry day images].
And now, it's seriously 'nite nite' time... I'm off to make my last rounds outside, say my prayers and settle in for the night. Before I close my eyes... I want to fank The Mogley for the sweet blog post. GR Rescue Rocks!!! Just sayin.

Day 849: The Story

Well, well, well...It has been a while since I have been here to share my foughts and feelins and the whatnot... It's been a busy and difficult few weeks: I have been workin hard to feel better. Me and the Mom have been busy seein people and talkin about fings. The Mom has been hoverin over me like crazy. And the Bleu has been rambuctious, rebellious and an all round 'bad boy' in a way that makes me proud and the Mom sigh.

I will begin wif the good news. I am feelin much better... like my old self. And I'm happy!

And now for the story:

Days 830 - 833. Monday-Thursday. I saw the Dr. Mark on Day 825 Wednesday and was put on aunty biotics for a sinus infection... along wif the Love Protocol adminstered by the Mom (what is more intense hoverin than even normal). We were hopeful on a counta one day I would feel better, but then the next... I would not. The Mom took notes on all of my actions and inactions, ever sound, ever breaf, ever ever fing.

Day 834. Friday. Me, the Mom and the Dr. Mark were in agreement that an exploratory procedure was in order to figure out how to help me feel better, so we planned that for Day 837.

Day 835 - 836. Saturday-Sunday. I didn't feel good, but the best and also the worst part was the Love Protocol aka the hoverin Mom. Just sayin.

Day 837. Monday. I had an exploratory procedure that turned into radical surgery to remove a growf from my froat. Sadly, the Mom's premonition was true. After a long conversation wif my the Dr. Mark, we knew that it was very likely not goin to be good, but breathin and swallerin was so much easier! I was restless and uncomfy overnight... and so was the Mom. The LP (Love Protocol) was in overdrive.

Day 838 - 839am. Tuesday-Wednesday. My froat hurt. But the LP made it just a little better. Just sayin.
[Photo taken Day 839. The cone belongs to the Bleu!]

Day 839pm. Wednesday 6pm to be exact. Dr. Mark received the results, did some local research... and called the Mom. It was the news he had prepared us for...: malignant melanoma. The Mom turned inward to the me and the LP.

Day 840 - 843. Thursday-Sunday. Oncology Appointment #1 was scheduled for Monday. And the Love Protocol mounts!

Day 844. Monday. My dear, sweet (the Mom's adjectives, not mine on a counta they are SO not dudely) Uncle Tom... came over bright and early to take us to Appointment 1. It was a little brutal... so Oncology Appointment 2 was made for Thursday, and the Love Protocol escalates, as does the research for holistic approaches to treatment...

Day 845 - 846. Tuesday-Wednesday. I am off all of the aunty biotics and pain meds, and I am startin to trot outside, chase squirrels, root for buried pecans and all in all, nap a little less. I'm even kinda enjoyin the LP a little more!

Day 847. Thursday. My dear, sweet (MY words this time on a counta he's THE UNCLE) Uncle Tom came over again to pick us up for Appointment 2. Wif the exception of the brief nap I took durin the serious part of the conversation... I had a blast! Even the way home was fun, and I enjoyed a brief stop by the Casa De Herd!

Day 848: Friday. Decisions have been made, appointments scheduled, and we are committed to a combination of conventional and holistic treatments and ferapies.
So that's the story. And now, as much as I hate to ask for help... I need it. Please keep me in your foughts and prayers. Please. I believe in that sort of fing... you know, The Power of the Paw!

And there's one other thing I need to ask... Please to not share a negative story wif me, on a counta the Mom reads this stuff. Me and the Mom are boaf fighters, but I fink the Old Gal is feelin a bit fragile these days. She real strong on the out side, but I know her like no body else... and she is hurtin. So please to share your postive energy and encouragement! We need and appreciate it more than you could ever know!

By the way, my Aunt Melanie has proclaimed my friends and family "Team Luke"  (has a nice ring to it, don't you fink?). And I would love you to join my team and the Love Protocol!

Day 764: 'Free At Last' Friday Preceded By My 'Wordless Wednesday' Post

Wednesday's words are sometimes real hurtful, but time [and also dog saliva] heals all wounds... and I, the Cool Hand Luke will make sure the Mom's are well attended!

And that, along wif the storms and also the Bleu gettin sick mid-week...mean I could not share you wif the post I had planned for the Wordless [it oughta be a law] Wednesday!
Yep, I am prayin to The Good Lord... Please to make it stop stormin ever single day. Please. Please. Please. I hate to beg and I know it unbecomin of a boy, but Please!

I have spent a good bit of the week holed up in the bunker. Chance of fundershower might have been 30% but you shoulda bet your sweet bippy that they train over my bunker, on a counta they did.
Back yard is soggy, full-o-skeeters and all round not so much fun. Given barometric conditions, I go out rarely... I do quick businesses and poise myself to quickly go back in of doors, first chance offered.
I'm not sure if there is a correlation wif all the rain and humidity [on a counta it under cover of porch], but my the bloomin night cereus is burstin wif the impendin blooms! [Next two photos taken Tuesday, Day 761].

Day 763 follow Day 762 aka Heart Breakin Wednesday [never to be spoken of again] and we sweep exactly two hours and twenty minutes but who's countin [ok, me and the Bleu who must listen to Billy the Exterminator catch gators up till and frew wee hours of the mornin,  when we shoulda been out of doors photographin the bloomin night cereus. Just sayin.]

Even though we miss the bloomin part, we revel in the blooms! [Please to forgive the effects of  100% humidity!]
Buncha blooms, all hazy and mystical...

This appear less dramatic than it appear in dog!!!
Night 763 was just awful wif the trainin funder storms and hard rain. And funderous activity go on till almost 9pm... and that is our nighty night time. Last call was offered, the Bleu accept... I decline... and we all do gather wifin the confines of the Big Bed for security sake...

Wif light of the new Day 764, however, come a new light in my eye... And I pronounce less than 10% chance of the storms, but I reserve my right to change my forecast. Like any other professional meteorologist, just sayin.
Now I would be remiss if I did not give you update on mutant live oak leaf!
Honestly, it may seem small to you... but it is HUGELY MUTANT next to all who surround it. [Kinda like the Bleu. Just sayin. Ha. Hahahahahahahaha]!

Even the Bleu say... "Holy Carp, what is that??!"

'That is one ginormous live oak leaf!!!'
Of course, I don't care bout any of it... just let me in of doors!!!
And after a week of tryin to get myself the 'H' out of a funderous situation... Today I find myself right smack in the middle of 'H'!!!
It is hard to not say more today, but I have big surprise to share for tomorrow! Stay tuned!!!

Day 721: Fankful Fursday... The Buddy Report

I am pleased to report that my Cousin The Buddy had surgery on Tuesday to remove the bladder stones that have caused him so much trouble. He is restin comfortably, feelin more and more like heself, and will likely be ready to go home tomorrow! Paws crossed...
Buddy is bout sweetest boy ever. He has such a unique personality and charisma bout him. Sweet Boy is a total shmoozer, but genuinely sincere wif a silly sense of humor. Just sayin.
As I mentioned to you before... When Buddy was brought into the GRRH family, his liver was in bad shape, and he was given firty days to live. That was free and a half years ago... all due to the LOVE and efforts of his the Mom and Dad [my Aunt Madison and Uncle Tom]. They have provided him wif the Miracle Waters, Chinese herbs, best personal and also medical care available and the MOST key ingredients: LOVE and FUN!

Just like me, the Buddy is all ways hungry and workin the 'feed me some fing' angle. Unlike me, he has the ability to cut those big eyes of his wif expression what say, "Did I mention that I have a bullet in me?"... AND on a counta he does, it is much more effective! And his timing is impeccable. Impeccable.

The Buddy is genius. Shear, genuine the genius. And the Lover... big time.

And ever body [Friends, Relatives, Romans and Countrymen] loves the lover, Buddy! Here he is wif his brother, the Dakota [in bandana]...
And I hope you will join us all in keepin the Buddy in our good foughts and prayers.
Yep. Take a good look here, on a counta this is the Buddy we are all just crazy about. He is sweet and fun and he loves  life. He also has the silky hairs what my the Mom cannot resist [shallow yes, truth yes, pitchers do not do the Buddy justice]!

The sad news is that these bladder stones are the product of a weak liver, so he will continue to have em... but a part of this surgery was to create a new tract from which they could pass.  His albumin level was boosted by a transfusion, but due to the damaged liver is typically abnormally low.

Albumin is key in wound [surgical] healing... so we need your help! Please to send the crossed paws, good foughts and prayers!

Many sincere fanks from the ♥ wif love from the Luke

Day 710: Dry Tails

Today we take break from the river runs and hikes and therefore also the long towelins and brushins and dryins on the screened in porch... what is big enough ordeal x2, but just fink of all the other Campers here!!!
And today we enjoy short walks and long naps, good movie at Sweepy Time Featre (Julie Julia), lots of attention and more drool inducin smells from the kitchen. Just sayin.

UPDATE AND REQUEST: The Buddy has done well followin his emergency procedure... but he is goin to have to have surgery soon to remove the stones from his bladder...
More on the Buddy's background later, but for now... please know that there is no body more lovable than the Buddy. Sweet boy has minimal liver function and a low albumin level... and that's the reason he hasn't already had surgery to remove the stones... but it must now happen soon, and he's goin to need your good foughts and prayers, pretty please...
