Day 893: Celebration!

This mornin started wif the absence of tasty breakfast foods, followed by a trip to Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists... not exactly where I hoped we were headed, but it was a good visit for a lot of different reasons:
  1. I got to see Sweet Lauren!!!
  2. I received my LAST regular Vaccine today! Woohoo!!!
  3. We had a swell visit with Dr N, and he said I look great!!!
  4. We were there less than an hour, and the Mom never left me!!!
  5. I'm goin to miss the peoples, but I'm excited that I have free monfs before I go back!!!
How... you ask... did I celebrate my return home this mornin??? Wif a good chase, of course! [The Mystery Narrator missed the chase from the back door, but picked up on the action as quickly as she could!]
Fank you all for your continued support of Team Luke and the Love Protocol!!! Your well wishes and words of encouragement help more than I could ever properly express, except to say... I treasure your Friendship!!!

Day 879: Treatment Day 4 In The History Books!

Here I am trotting up to the SLVS for my 4f and Final Treatment Day! There is a skip in my step on a counta I am finkin of this as Graduation Day... and also on a counta I am so much lighter than normal (wifout the breakfast foods in my belly)...
Of course, I felt obliged to stop and check my pmail and do a bit of business of my own. You will note the new trash receptacle in the top left portion of the next photo... and you may consider this The Luke Wright Receptacle, on a counta the Mom used to carry a bag of business in every time I visit their fine establishment! And I'm pretty sure they installed this container for that reason...
Lots of smells out here... and ok, maybe a little heal draggin. Not much. Just a little.
I've learned to plop down while the Mom checks me in. I behave pretty well... well, except for last week when that kitteh cat came from around the corner!
Not sure what that squiggly fing in the photo is... but this is my best "Are you really goin to leave me here?" face! I pouted just a little, but then Sweet Lauren came around to show me some lovin... and next fing you know...
I am dressed in a new autographed bandanna... and the Mom along wif my the Aunt Karen are whiskin me out to the trolley for our trip home! My the Mom got teary and kinda choked up as Aunt Karen read what was written on my new scarf!
I've told you about Treatment Day before, so you know what I'm waitin on... Food and another inch of water!!!
I stood in this doorway while the Mom made excuses like "wait for your tummy to settle from the car ride" and "just a few more minutes", etc. etc.

Gosh. I look famished.
Know why? Cause I am!
It is a dark, dreary day so all of my photos turned out dark and dreary (and blurry). Some of it was the Mom's brilliant photographic genius... but most of it was just the day.
The Mom didn't pick up the Bleu's bowl right away, so I gave it a good lickin and then stood (ok, laid) guard!
As I settled in for a nap, I let the Mom take my bandanna off to take pitchers. I just love it... Don't you???
I wish you could have seen my the Mom's face when I came around the corner wif this sweet scarf round my neck. She all ways drops to hug and smooch me, but today she had a extra wide smile... and the emotions welled up, I could tell!
Lauren and Mitzi take very good care of me. I am very sweet on them, and while I don't want to seem presumptuous... I fink they are sweet on me, too!
And then there's Doctor Novosad... He's smart and kind, and he really looks out for my best interest. I'm grateful to him for all he's done, and especially for the way he's treated my the Mom. You might not know this about her... but she can be a bit of a basket case when it comes to the healf and welfare of her Sweet Boy. It takes a special kind of Doctor to deal wif her nerves. Just sayin.
Uncle Tom and Aunt Karen have been SO supportive frew this entire experience. I don't fink my the Mom would have made it wifout them! They have been wif us ever step of the way...

And Aunt Karen helped us express our gratitude and love to All of Our Friends at SLVS... Coy, Sicily, Lauren, Mitzi, Doctor N... and all of the others!!! She made a batch of her famous Aunt Karen Cookies, and we left them behind this afternoon (much to my dismay) when I was discharged!

You remember the Aunt Karen cookies... She made them to celebrate My First 100 Days! And here is a pitcher of me, tryin to convince my the Mom that they were for ME! [By the way, we were livin 100% in the bedroom and outside durin those days, after Ike... wifout the tricity].
I am SO lucky. I have Team Luke. And I have the Love Protocol. Your support lifts my spirits, and I feel your positive energy and love. From the bottom of my sweet heart, I fank you so very much!

Day 871: Sunday On The Porch Wif Wishes

We have been blessed wif the gorgeous weather... cool airs, blue skies and bright sunshine... and I am in constant indecision on which side of the door I prefer...
I know You, My Dear Friends, are probably growin tired of my daily posts... same pitchers, different day. I have to tell you, though... I love reignin over my territory. I love all that is mine. And I am grateful for the each and ever day!
Here I come from around the corner, checkin out the SSE (squirrel side escape)!
On my way to checkin out the "big" yard. Time to check the squirrel spoils... and a bit surprised by the Pupperazzi. Just sayin.
Headin in to home.
Surveyin My Territory.
Ready to enjoy the in of doors.
Yesssss.... Nowwwwwww.

Now there's a lot more of today that I would like to share wif the you... but Google has informed me that I have used up all of the free storage space they are willin to give me... and even though I busted my piggy bank open to buy more space, it will be 24 hours before I get it!!!

And since I have A MAJOR WISH to share wif the you... I hijacked my brother, the Bleu's blog for a special request... and usin his bandwidf, I'm able to share this...

Meet The Very Sweet Sophie!!!

Sophie recently tore her ACL and miniscus and will be having surgery tomorrow, Monday... so please please PLEASE to keep this Gorgeous Girl in your Foughts and Prayers!!!

Tomorrow is also Treatment Day 3 for me, and I am in complete denial about whether breakfast will be served tomorrow... And I'm pretty sure that the Sophie is right there wif me!

Team Luke Joins Team Sophie!!!

Day 869: Kinda Lazy Friday Wif The Free Fur!

We were really busy today wif this and that... and also very frankly, we were feelin kinda lazy! These last few weeks have not been the easiest, and some times doin nuffin but chillin and nappin next to the Mom makes it feel any better!

So, I did! Just sayin.

Well, that's not all... I did other stuff, too. Here I am tryin to convey the message that I know the dinner has been prepared and is on the kitchen counter... what in your crazy mind finks I would want to come outside???
The Mom has been addin water to my dry food so that it is easier on my froat... I am an instant gratification kind of guy and do not like waitin...!

Out of frustration, I went out, made a quick swaff frew the back yard hopin that a quick turn-round would improve the dinner service around here!
And it did!

Dinner in my belly, I'm MUCH more interested in millin about in the backyard. I mean, it's a beautiful day and the temperature is just a bit chilly... my favorite kind of weather!
For sure, I've not felt my best this week... It's not that I feel awful, I just don't feel myself.
I don't feel nearly as energetic or full of the mischief that I normally do...
And I have to keep remindin my the Mom... these are the mild temporary side effects were told to expect.
I'm not sure she hears me, on a counta she is too busy monitorin my every move and... if I know the Mom... worryin and prayin!
I've wrapped up my businesses and I am really ready to go in of doors...
But the Bleu is still tryin to plot the correct coordinates for the big all important drop... So me and the Mom enjoy some lovin on the patio.
My the Mom has all ways loved my soft and somewhat wild neck furs... And these days, I am not wearin a collar 24x7, so here is the Friday Free Fur!
Like all ways, once we went inside... I was also excited to go back out wif the first invitation!
And I made all manner of perimeter checks and shnoofins. I mean... I did my duty!!!
Once back in and settled, and ok... as a result of me not feelin quite myself, we have had a bit of drama in the bedroom.

You see... when the Bleu goes to the kitchen to fill his hump, I have made it a practice of lyin down in his preferred location on the floor. When he comes back and sees me in his place, he begins to have a nervous breakdown. Tap tap tap tap tap tap tap... until the Mom guides him in to the bed you see him in.
Once there, he settles and is quite content... but it is quite the ordeal to guide him in!

Fank you for your foughts and prayers.
Team Luke rocks!!!
The Love Protocal works!!!

Day 866: Storms, Squirrels And A Little Some Fing For The Ladies

When last I left you, I was in the bunker... and for good reason.

We had a horrific night of the funder and storms and very loud rain and wind. It has been a while since we have suffered such an event, but neither me nor the Mom have forgotten 'the drill'... and we ran frew it repeatedly from about midnight to about 6am.

I will spare you the details, but I will say... The funeral music was on "repeat", and there was no cocktail in my belly.

You see, even though my doctors said I could have one... my the Mom was reluctant on a counta my Aunt Isphesia and also the vaccine. I fink in total, we got about an hour and a half of sleep... well, until the Mom went to work! Then me and the Bleu made up for lost time!
It has been a dreary day wif the high rain chances, but it has not rained. I am not fearful of the conditions, but I am not frilled wif them either.
Bad news is we have big rain chances tonight and tomorrow, too. Peoples say we are in a drought and need the rain. I guess they're right, but I prefer not to hear my weather. Just sayin
What's kinda fun is that there have been squirrels lined up in the sills of my clerestory windows. You see, we have deep overhangs, and my sills are a favorite place of theirs... to ride out storms.
This mornin, I chased one from the sill to the fence to the roof. And now ever time I go outside, I make sure they're not still there!
And the Mom keeps callin me back to the patio on a counta for some reason, she gets a little nervous when I sniff the gate and try to climb the fence and wall. Silly the Mom...
Of course, it's hard to keep your mind on squirrel when your belly is empty... so I'm HAPPY to head back in to try to convince Ole Gal that it's DINNER TIME!
At first, she didn't buy it... so I followed her around. I kept just inches away from her, even penned her into some dead ends a few times... until suddenly she was enlightened! Dinner Time!!!
It's amazin how docile I feel once I've got a little grub in my belly. And now, speakin of...

Here's a little some fing for the ladies!!!

Uh huh... Yeah...
Showin off a little of a shaved belly [from my tests],
and I just almost need to borrow Nigel's black bar!

And of course, the Mom can't resist the sweet face,
on a counta she is the Mom...

You can see that my wonderful caretakers at Sugar Land tried very hard to maintain my vanity, and I fink they did an amazin job. My furs are already growin back, and I fink as long as they can see their markins, I will not be shaved again. [Of course, I would never want my vanity to compromise their work! But I do appreciate their attentiveness to my handsomeness. Just sayin.]
It's dark. It's dreary. And the Mom got about two hours of sleep last night. For some reason, I fink I might have a low key evenin of horizontality ahead of me. I'll do my best to oblige...
