The Blanco River has a limestone bottom wif many channels and grooves and varyin depfs. It was my charge to maintain a pace such that the Mom would not fall... as she held her end of the leash, the camera and had to watch where she was next to put her foot!
The river banks vary from sleepy to steep grassy hills to limestone cliffs, and are privately owned... at least in the areas we hiked. What you heard was indeed someone mowing. Sorry!
And now it's time to hop!
