Friday... My Favorite! And today was double my favorite on a counta we share The Traditional Friday Family Lunch wif my the Aunt Karen! How Fun!!!

It was a busy afternoon, and I mostly stayed inside wif the women folk... but I did enjoy a few swings frew the back yard!

The Mom is shuttin fings down round here. And as CHS (Chief Household Supervisor) I am watchin ever move. I know the secret, but my lips are sealed! After all, I'm a stand-up, loyal kind of boy!

That's not to say I'm above frowin a big pity party for the Santa, if he's readin... I mean, there might be a basket FULL of toys right there, but...

THAT BASKET came wif the Bleu, as part of his trousseau, and so technically it and said contents, for all Santa-like purposes is not mine [mine mine]. And so I fink I might be in need and also deservin a new stuffy [or 2 or 3 or 40]. Just sayin.

Shhhhhhh... No need to mention this to the Bleu...
Just sayin.

I love ever single day. I do. Give me an EXTRAORDINARY day like today, and I'm excited, frilled and ultimately... completely relaxed and satisfied. And as I rest my eyes, I count my blessins... and say my prayers! And I close by wishin you...

Day 903: The Goose Is Evidently Gettin Fat!!!

It has been a VERY busy hustle and bustle week. And as the CHS (Chief Household Supervisor) around here, my "eye" is on overtime on a counta there has been so much to keep it on! It's been real fun... but the downside is that I haven't had a lot of time to blog...

I should probably start by tellin you that I am feelin much better. We are still tryin to find the balance in the 'wetness' of my food... I prefer it more dry than wet, but I also like soft food to go wif it. Perhaps I've just gotten spoiled wif all the pumpkin I've been gettin... I'm not ready to divulge. I prefer, instead, to keep the Mom guessin how to feed me, on a counta that is SUCH fun!!!

[FYI: My appetite is as strong as ever, but my comfort varies from day to day. I'm told that it most likely will return to normal. In the grand scheme of fings... It's not that big of a deal, but more just some fing for the Mom to fret over... as she is the CHF (Fretter)! The big issue is to find the balance of quality, holistic foods that achieve my desired results... AND feel good goin down my pie hole! Just sayin.

Mmmmm... Pie!!! But I digress...

Amidst the flurry of furniture re-arrangement, the emptyin of boxes and the tissue paper rattlin... My nose on the little doo-dads is appreciated only so much, so I call an audible... And me and the Bleu lay low to figure out exactly what is goin on here...

I have been a very good boy and also tolerant of the Mom who is singin about a goose that is puttin on poundage. What exactly said goose's weight has to do wif an old man's hat, I am not entirely sure... But clearly this is a very important clue as to the disorder that is our Family Room right now...

My duty, as CHS, is to observe the activity and show appreciation for the singin... and to ensure that the Bleu respects [like he would touch em wif a ten foot pole] the fragile nature of all the little golden retriever and other doggy ornaments who wait in peace... on the coffee table.

There's not much room around the tree, so I've gotta give the tree trimmer space...

Given to me by my the Aunt Dav, this is a special ornament designed by Carrington, of Midland, Texas... for the Children's Art Project!!!

Flash Forward and Wah-Lah! My the Mom announced that OUR tree... Me and The Bleu's Tree... is the only tree that she's 'puttin up' this year. I like the other tree on a counta its whimsy, but I like the Mom's attention to the me us more. Just sayin.

And mine and the Bleu's and also the Mom's and the Comet's stockins are hung in the Family Room wif care... in hopes that the Fat Man will fill em up wif the good stuffs!

Day 902: Walkin Wednesday

My apology, in advance on a counta (1) the business of how this ended... and (2) the Mom's lack of business editin skills. Just sayin.

FYI: The temperature drop was abrupt. When we walked out of the house, the winds were calm... but by the time we reached the road, they were gustin from the north.

So while the Mom left in shorts and a t-shirt and in a few short minutes... she needed jeans and a jacket!!! [Me, the Bleu and also the Herd were fine and needed no alteration to our fur coats. Just sayin.]

I'm feelin a little droopy today, so me and the Mom have been curled up under my binky. It's chilly willy in this house, but not chilly enough for a Sweet Boy to be stay snuggled up like that for long! I hated to do it to her... but I could no longer be her heater! [Besides, it's 61 degrees in here, and the silly ole gal had the ceilin fan spinnin!]

I know you're wonderin... And yes, we DID take a lot of pitchers outside today. And you know they're BAD if I won't even consider imposin them on you! OK, OK... there was one that's not SO bad, so I leave you wif it...

I call it "The Fresh Hold".
And I'm fankful for it!!!

900 Days is a long time... but not nearly long enough!
I would like about a million more!!!

Day 899: Snores, Chores and More

Lammy reminds me of my Daisy... and I'm not referrin to my almost sister Daisy, but my Girl Friend, Daisy!

Sweet Girl has a fing for the lammies, and each time I settle in wif one, I fink... I would gladly give up the lammy stuffy for the Daisy!

I would, for sure. Just sayin.

Chores aside, I'm excited and lookin forward to the Holidays! Christmas is less than free weeks away!!! Me and the Bleu are tryin to decide what to give the Mom. Bleu finks she would like a nice stick, but I say no... it should be some fing tasty to eat. We are open to suggestions, so please to share them!

Day 898: The Drivin Miss Daisy Edition And Other Currently Sisterless Saturday Stuff

Meet Miss Daisy!

She is in the trolley, on a counta my the Mom, along wif the Aunt Madison, chauffeured Sweet Girl to the GRRH Meet-N-Greet at Orvis in the Woodlands!

These pitchers don't do this beautiful girl justice, but even so... she reminds me of someone special wif also the magnitudinous good looks...

Finkin finkin, but I can't quite put my paw on it... but she is Special, that's for sure!

I fink we can all agree that she is replete wif the good looks, but the Mom says Miss Daisy is also a very mannerly trolley passenger!

And Sweet Girl's manners didn't stop there! I hear that she was VERY well behaved at the event!

I also hear that she formed a close bond wif one of the volunteers there...

And that volunteer bonded wif her, too...

One passer-by even noted how much Daisy seemed to love her the mom...

Wait Wait WAIT. Did I hear that correctly??? Her "The Mom"???

Well... as of THIS moment, I don't have a sister. That's all I can report for now!

No approved adopters attended the event, but Daisy met many wonderful people who came there to learn more about the group. And many expressed interest in adopting and fostering... so it was a very good day!

The gorgeous Ambassador was happy to board the trolley for the trip back to Houston, and she settled in for a little nap, and that's good! I SO do love me a sweet girl who has no interest in the Co-Pilot position, because that position is filled... by ME!!!

Passive passenger. Check!

Daisy was initially estimated to be 8 years old, but GRRH does not believe that to be so. . Her teef are clean and not worn in the least. She is energetic and lively, but also easily settles. All fings considered, she's likely 5-7 years old and just prematurely gray.

It's not like she has had a stress free life. You see, her first family abandoned her when they moved away. A few Good Samaritans made sure the Sweet Girl made her way to GRRH!

Daisy is as smart as she is sweet. You'll love the things her Foster Mom has to say!!! By all a counts, Daisy will complete her Forever Family! She is that kind of girl!!!

My Currently Sisterless Saturday

Now meanwhile, you are wonderin how this Saturday has been shaped by the currently Sisterless Luke and also the Bleu [of course]!

We, ok I awoke early and after much sighin and restin my chin on the (east then west then east then west then...) side of the bed, we all did arise and check out the happenins in the back 40!

You just never know what atrocities might have been committed overnight. Just sayin.

Fortunately, not much did... We went frew the motions and then me and the Bleu, we did graciously allow the Mom to don her GRRH shirt and depart wif the trolley... to Drive Miss Daisy!

And when Ole Gal arrived back home, renderin me once again and also currently sisterless... we spent some good quality time out of doors in the 80 degree + temperatures to absorb a bit of heat before those temps drop to the 30's tonight. Crazy, right?

Hard to believe that we just got our yard raked a few days ago... but Gosh, I'm cute! What a face I have!!!

File this next pitcher under "Shift Change"... a favorite category of the Mom's, even though it has never been a label. [tsk tsk]

I'm just happy the flash isn't on!!!

I may have all the physical qualities of a model, but the behaviors... not so much. Here is me when I fink I hear the dinner bell ring!

It all unfolded exactly how I hoped. Dark has come over the back yard... and "the tree" has come into the house. The Bleu is scared and sought refuge in the big bed.

I'm not sure what to fink, so I am keepin one eye on it!

And I am followin the Mom frewout the house. I don't want to miss a fing.

Look upper right center... you will see me keepin an eye on ~~the dead eff-a-lent in the room/red bag and the crime scene~~ "the tree"...

I'm not sure how I feel about all of this. I'm tryin to remain calm... act nonchalent... and pretend there is no eff-alent in the room...

But followin the Mom seems like the fing to do... since we're plannin one of those "get back to the original spirit of the holiday" kind of Christmas.

The funnest fing about Christmas... is givin. But this year for us, all spare (and then some) green papers are dedicated to medical care. Me, the Mom and also the Bleu hope that everyone understands... our extraordinary circumstances!

We won't be able to send our normal end-of-year contributions to charities, as we would like. We are saddened by the financial implications... but along wif the immense personal challenges we have before us, we also have infinite hope in our hearts... that we will overcome the odds!!!

And to anyone out there wif the Santa connections... Please to tell him the story of the Sweet Luke who dreams of a new stuffy for Christmas! I am deprived. Really, I am.

Day 897: Friday Fun And More About Fursday, Day 896!

As you all know, Friday is my favorite day of the week for many reasons, and I enjoyed each of them wif the gusto today!!!

Round here we call it Half Day Friday on a counta we get to spend half the day wif the Mom! And as is tradition, we shared a Mytiburger and then therefore our traditional family nap!

The nap was quite short today, because the weather was far too nice to miss! Well that and the Mom felt ~~pressured~~ motivated to get some chores done in preparation for "bringin in and dressin the tree"... whatever that means. Our shut-eye, while only about ten minutes long, was still really quite refreshin.

And speakin of tree... I had fings to do of my own!!!

Rascally rascal is up there, and I know it.

Well... I knew it until I saw four of them in my pecan tree!

My M.O. is that I stand like a statue... and wait to spring into action when the the little varmints least expect it.

This might actually work if the Mom didn't incessantly photograph the statue until the statue... just... gives...up.

I mean, seriously, is there an angle that a the Mom does not appreciate???

Most sweet boys only have to worry bout whether the eye boogies are clear and the broccoli is off the teef... but I have to concern myself wif what's danglin in my feathers!

Ok. I made my own self laugh! Me, You and Everbody know I don't care one bit whatsoever what is danglin in my feathers! I do like my eye boogies cleared regularly, but I wear a little dirt on my chin wif pride! Just sayin.

Here I am, peakin to see what the Mom is doin... I'm not sure if I'm ready to come inside. After all, Mister Dyson is outstandin in the livin room... but my wrist watch is tellin me it's time for the tasty foods.

Turns out it WAS time for the dinner service. And I enjoyed my Wysong Anergen Duck and Rice, garnished wif two squirts of Grizzly Salmon Oil... followed up wif a dollop of pumpkin dessert!

And wif a blink of an eye, it was dark, and I fought I was safe to go out and enjoy the out-of-doors wifout the Mom and the flashy beast. Boy-O-Boy was I wrong.

She found this "darkness" settin on the camera, and she decide to experiment... Kinda cool, I guess.

Not what I would call poetic, wif the garden tools in the background... and so not centered... but pretty good for seein a totally black view finder.

The Mom say this settin is posed to capture ~~the desired image~~ Sweet Boy and the background. She not say a fing bout makin the Bleu's eyes a pear demonic, but that happened, too.

Nor did she mention that it would capture the glow of positive energy (like in that fictional book she read that was so popular bout a million years ago)... but it did!

The Bleu look kinda cool under the Texas Sage what is confused and bloomin right now.

And here I am, ready to head in for some good toy time!

But before I say 'Night Night, Ya'all!'... ~~My the Mom wants me to show you a bunch of pitchers from yesterday~~ I want to catch you up on Yester-Day 896.

Fursday, Day 896

Another beautiful day, and I am happy and feelin great! Cooped up in-of-doors while the Mom was at the Factory, I am anxious to peruse the perimeter...

And shnoof the little oak tree base, where the squirrels feed and frollick and play all day... wifin my view from the back door.

It is SO not right, but I must take a moment to say...

I waited 9.5 years to find myself on the lovin side of that back door. I don't care how long the Mom is gone. And I don't care how quick she is to let me out, when she's home.

What I care about is that I am... all ways... on the lovin side of the door. All ways.

Feel the love??? I do!!!

Sometimes the tasty foods are on the opposite side from the love, and I am torn...

But wif a little insistence, a little lobbyin... a little lookin incredibly cute...

And a little Solidarity... Love is pretty easily transformed beyond threshold!

And as luck would have it, love works in boaf directions...

Not great pitchers, but I hope they convey our happiness, on a counta I treasure each and every simple moment.

Don't get me wrong, I dream the Big Dream... Half of which is keep on keepin on enjoyin Chapter Two Ever Day Life...

This mornin started wif the absence of tasty breakfast foods, followed by a trip to Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists... not exactly where I hoped we were headed, but it was a good visit for a lot of different reasons:

I got to see Sweet Lauren!!!
I received my LAST regular Vaccine today! Woohoo!!!
We had a swell visit with Dr N, and he said I look great!!!
We were there less than an hour, and the Mom never left me!!!
I'm goin to miss the peoples, but I'm excited that I have free monfs before I go back!!!

How... you ask... did I celebrate my return home this mornin??? Wif a good chase, of course! [The Mystery Narrator missed the chase from the back door, but picked up on the action as quickly as she could!]

Let me say... If I can't be livin life large at Campo Blanco... then I want to be Home!

Me and the Bleu boaf are granted A+ for our behavior on the free hour trip home. I mostly rested, but also enjoyed some sweet attentions from my Aunt Madison...

The Bleu, he did sweep pretty peacefully in the rumble seat. And now home, we each settle into our familiar restin spots.

Please to not feel sorry for him on a counta that spot is prime for the maximum number of hours, and Big Boy hog it!

I sure love the adventure, but there is some fing comfortin bout knowin exactly what is goin to happen next...

And that is lights out on a wonderful and adventurous and sweet day!!!

I don't know where to start... I am fankful for my entire life!!!

Day 891: Campo Blanco Commemerative Photos and Preparin For Our Final Hike

As is tradition, we all head outside to enjoy more of the fresh airs and celebrate our time together!

You might fink it is easy to gather all the Campers out of doors at one time...

But not so much... And here I am, lookin in to see what is the delay wif some our stragglers. Turns out... the holdup is due to the Counselors and not the Campers! Just sayin.

The effort to take a group pitcher was completely foiled by... ummmm... It was uhhhh... and act of God, I mean... Mother Nature. Ok... It was my fault, along wif the Bleu's... For some reason, neither of us could stop eatin dirt, acorns and deer poop long enough to face the camera.

There. I said it. Can we please move on??? I am feelin the shame all ready! Just sayin.

So... No Campo Blanco Session (nor any other gatherin, for that matter) is complete wifout a pitcher of the happy couple... The Bleu and his Sweet Porter!

The Mom made the comment that as much as they love each other, they are actin like they don't even know each other...

And then we started to suspect that they are secretly married! (hahahahahahahahaha).

Day 891: Chilly S-S-S-S-Saturday Mornin!

Me and the Bleu were heisted by the Uncle Tom... from the Mom-wifout-her-coat... on this 27 degree mornin!

Once properly attired, Ole Gal was back out to document our mornin constitutional!

And what a beautiful mornin it is... wif the clear skies and the cold!!!

Even the Buddy got the Zoomies!!!

And as much as we all enjoyed the chilly airs, we eagerly headed back inside... in anticipation of the breakfast foods!

Certainly, that is what was on MY mind!!!

The Bleu teu... but he honors "the magic line" as long as he can...

Wif a LOT of encouragement, followed by everyone completely ignorin him... Big Boy enters the Kitchen to fill his hump (at the water bowl)!!!

And in typical the Bleu contradictory style... he get the restrained zoomies!!!

But he got nuffin on the Cane-Bo!!!

Finally, the little squirt stopped... and he is not even out of breaf!

Day 890: More Walks And The Bird!

After the burst of activity in the Kitchen... came a lull. I'm not sure what to make of it, but I like the aromas that are waftin... and so I was a bit reluctant to head out for a little outdoor time.

And here I am... "tangled up in Bleu"!

And Cousin Atlas... or Atty, as my the Mom calls him. He's checkin it all out...

Just like me and the Bleu check our return trip tickets and boardin passes. Check. Check. Check. Check.

We are havin the time of our lives and hope it will last Forever, but we also adore the concept of the trolley... and we're kinda fond of it's driver. Just sayin.

Day 890: Golden Friday [Wif A Little Black, Too!]... Just Chillin Inside!

It's fun to hang out wif your Family.

My Cousin Atlas is sneakin up behind me and my sweet tongue.

Big fings are happenin here in the Kitchen, among em... my the Mom is busy workin on her Fanksgivin Tradition to contribute to our Family Meal today... It is my job, of course, to ~~eat up all she drops~~ keep her company. And I love a job well done!

I enjoyed my time outside earlier, and I was almost certain that I wanted to stay there forever...

But the mom convinced me and the Bleu that the adventures were equally appealin on the other side of the door!

I know she is right, on a counta there is all ways some fun fing goin on in here! If you don't believe me... ask the Buddy!

He get up from his doorway recline, to pose between the chairs. He is a looker, and I mean that in the most dudely sense of the word.

Check out Cousin Atlas. He's takin a break from ~~his shepherdin~~ makin the rounds, but is still poised to spring into action as needed. Just sayin.

I love when opportunities are in abundance... And they truly are, here at Campo Blanco. Us Cousins are entertainin in our own right, but then there's also the folks who love and cater to our itches, scratches and whims... and then to take the experience over the edge... there are tons of windows to the wildlife stage!!!

Perhaps I am less sophisticated than the others, but I am the only Cousin who is interested and monitors the windows in earnest. I will dedicate all the time necessary, and I am very quiet and still when the deer make their appearances....

And I wait, too... wif my leash attached. You see... I have an early history of BOLTIN. I've not made an attempt in a year or more, but I've also not been given many opportunities. You would fink that my the Mom would recognize my loyalty, soften just a bit and give me some leeway to make the right decision...

After all we have been frew together, you would fink her trust in me would be greater....

But no... But it doesn't bother me. Just bring on the Peaceful Friday! I'm so there!

And then Sweet Boy also lay down to present his silky and curly furs for all of the peoples' enjoyment! He say bring on the hands, the paws, the noses... on a counta he is The Dylan! Nough said.

There is so much goin on here at Campo Blanco... It's hard to place an absolute value on a nap!

But this one I share wif the Cane is pretty darn sweet. And relaxin.

Day 890: Friday Mornin Feedin Frenzy & Fun (Before & After)

Me and the Bleu woke the Mom up early this mornin, wif the excitement that we could no longer conceal... on a counta we knew The Herd was just on the other side of our bedroom door!

It's not yet quite daylight, but the sky is beautiful and clear... and the temperature is brisk and cold!

Best fing about early mornins in the country is sniffin all the critters what have passed this way over night. We have seen dozens of deer... and after dark last night, they were snortin at us as we took our "last call"!

I could stay out here all mornin... or until my tummy begins to growl!

I fink there is not much better inside place than the Kitchen at Campo Blanco. I mean... It is good INSIDE sniffin!!!

Add the Frenzy, and it is one hip and excitin place to be... especially this time of day!

Today our Kitchen is under the direction of Master Chef Tom... of Mister T Day Spa fame... and he is also the most special uncle EVER... to me and the Bleu!

No pitchers of the actual feed bowl dispersal, but I'll tell you... We all enjoyed it, and made quick work of cleanin the bowls! Then we were out for After Tasty Breakfast Foods Constitutional!

The Bleu utilizes the time to hone his 'lookin cute' skills...

I, on the other paw, am on a business trip.

The Mom says it's kinda hard to photograph us when we are leashed up, so I frow her a tiny bone by turnin my head for the pitcher.

Enough. Let's go!

I LOVE bein here, but every chance I get... I check out the trolley. If it is to depart, I want to make sure I have my ticket handy. Just sayin.

Beyond the cooperative head turn a minute ago, I am really not in the mood for the flashy beast... so I set about duckin my head and foilin the shots...

There is a delay between the setup and actual capture, and I am a master at dodgin the full face shot... so the Mom is frilled when she spin us in a wide circle wif hope to catch a side glance!

The Bleu is usually pretty cooperative wif the pitchers, so long as it only involves his own self... His only photogenic fault is that the pitcher must be framed perfectly in order to fit Big Boy in his entirety. Just sayin.

And I guess I had a lapse in my awareness on a counta the Mom zipped around in front of me for this shot!

It's ok... we're on our way back to the warmf of the inside. I hear talk of roasted bird and other good eats, as well as naps and a long walk! It's hard to say what I'm lookin forward to more!

Day 889: Happy Fanksgivin Day!!!

Happy Fanksgivin from Campo Blanco where the weather is in transition, and you all know how I feel about that!

Above show me wif the weather bleus but also just wee bit attitude / hard of hearin / passive aggressive I am just me bein me... when asked / commanded to sit for pitcher.

And here I am in one of my favoritest places Inside at Campo Blanco... and that is by the Mom's chair in the kitchen! I am joined, wif a respectful chair's distance, by the Porter... She is the Bleu's girlfriend. And a gorgeous one at that!

The Bleu say... "Back off the Luke. She is mine. All mine."

Of course, the Bleu say that in the den on a counta he is a-feared of the kitchen! By contrast and also so very not a-feared of the kitchen... is the Buddy!

Buddy got the very expressive eyes and he is very adept at cuttin them for personal ~~gain~~ connection. Many times they express... "Did I mention that I have a bullet in me?" [And in very sad fact, he does.]

And while we're disccusin stories, the Da Kota-Bear say he got one too... but he ain't tellin, and neither am I. FYI... Maybe not so much in pitchers, but in person... me and the Kota can slip up on you and confuse bout who's who. We have the very similar sweet face and mannerisms...

It is Fanksgivin Day... And we are all so very fankful. I mean, we are in this peaceful place... surrounded by love and by "family". I am happy, and so is the Bleu!

And just as the weather is in transition, so are we... as we await the arrival of Cousin Becca and Second Cousin Atlas [of the Extended Herd fame]! We are actually goin to celebrate the food portion of this holiday tomorrow when we are all together in a tradtional time frame. Just sayin.

Did you say "nap"? Here are me and the Bleu "takin" ours!

Is this the appropriate time to tell you that accordin to my inner anemometer... the winds have shifted and are now comin from the Due Norf.

The wind is just little bit howlin and the windows are low enough for me to see the leaves blowin. I wouldn't say I'm unhappy... just, let's say, observant.

Rationally, I am askin myself... "Why be nervous over loud winds?"

Transtion complete. Cousin Becca and Second Cousin Atlas checked into the Inn! And I'm checkin on THE MOM AND THE GAME TIME.

What game you ask??? THE GAME, OF COURSE!!! Texas A&M at The University of Texas.

Our the Mom has undergraduate connections wif boaf of these fine schools and graduate wif the A&M.

The Mom passionately love boaf schools... but this year, we root for the Maroon And White!!!

And yes, that means... "Saw Varsity's horns offfffff...."!

Early game was a paw-biter but not for all... Clearly, Porter and Dylan are not concerned!

They clearly did not carry the burden of the bandana... like I did!!!

Big rivalries, in my opinion, mean big naps! Just sayin.

Day 887: Busy-Ness

Rare is the day when we are too busy to take pitchers, but today has been action packed! And in keepin wif the blurry pheme of yesterday, here is me in a hurry to come in for the dinner foods. Note my sweet tongue!

Some fing is definitely up round here on a counta my the Mom is hustlin round the kitchen mixin this and rubbin that, pullin pans outta the cabinets and missed-elaneous whatnot.

Please know that I mean this wif all due respect[?]... but my the Mom is NOT a cook!!! So as I watch all the commotion wif her bakin this and cookin that, I just feel like ~~God knows~~ she needs my help!!!

Fact that I smell bacon bacon Bacon BACON means that she needs REAL help. And as hard as I've tried to dance between the Mom and the cooktop... she has requested even harder that I move!

Fine. Here I am in the hall. I am still a matter of two feet from the kitchen. And the first morsel or bit I hear drop to the floor... I'm there!

My the Cousin John just came by to rub my sweet head [and ok, the Bleu's teu] and visit for a while. He brought in a duffle bag, and left it in that other room wif a bed. I guess he's comin back on a counta the Mom gave him a key!

This MUST be a piece to the Surprise puzzle!!! Either the Mom is preparin the Fanksgivin foods for her favorite [two legged] nephew, or... like some times in the past, my Cousin John is takin a break from the apartment livin and stretchin out at our house! Odd fing is, and I don't know why... but we usually leave so he can stretch out into the whole house! What is up wif that???! I guess we just wait and see what tomorrow brings...

Until then, you can find me somewhere between the peanut butter cookie (from scratch) aroma and cooked bacon smell in the kitchen! There are other olfactory delights, but they are not nearly so seductive!

Happy Day Before The Day Before Fanksgivin! I am makin my Fankful list... and when I reflect on it, I realize I am one Lucky Luke... And my Friends are at the top of my list!!!

My the Mom finks she is even luckier, on a counta she has the me and also the Bleu... AND all of Our Wonderful and Supportive Friends! She say she feel blessed. For sure.

Day 886: Monday Wif The Brilliant Photography

Happy Monday of this fine Holiday Week! Though this pitcher was taken yesterday after my baff, it reflect how I am gearin up for my Fanksgivin Surprise!

I spent some quality time Sunday afternoon, lettin my furs dry and just finkin about how special this Holiday is goin to be!

And the reason I open up this journal entry wif the yesterday's pitchers is on a counta... It's a dark, dreary Monday and today's pitchers are blurry and frankly... awful. It is on a counta the weather and most definitely NOT the Mom's photographic genius. Just sayin wink wink.

I offer you today's glimpse at my fluffy caboose! It may be blurry, but it is clean.

This pitcher is kinda interestin, since my head looks in focus but ever fing else is not. It was taken on the "sport" settin. I fink maybe the camera battery is gettin weak.

It has been a busy evenin round here wif the hustlin and bustlin and bakin!!! Imagine my surprise when heat was emitted from that big stainless steel box in the kitchen! And the smells!!! Mmmmm-mmmmm!

And then after dark, we all went out to admire the full moon what was soon covered over by the fast movin clouds... and the Mom capture the moment wif this pitcher.

I know she is in love wif my soft and silky and lavender Buddy Wash smellin furs... but this was not how she visualized the frame (in the dark). But then again... neither was the next one, but at least my sweet face is in the frame!

And then she backed up and took this one. Not such a good shot, but at least she got all of me in it! The look on my face is lettin you know that I will not rest until the good smells on the other side of that door are EATEN... [or bagged, boxed and/or sealed]!

Fings are still busy round here tonight. Me and the Bleu are restin, but I am takin notes. I'm gettin closer to guessin what the Fanksgivin Surprise might be! And if I'm right... I'm frilled!!!

I love the tradition of listin all I'm fankful for... and You, My Friends, are at the top of my list!!!

Day 884: Various and Sundry Saturday Stuff!

I know I look like I am ready to go somewhere, but I'm only wearin my harness so that the Mom has a way to redirect me in the backyard... and relocate me in-of-doors.

You see... I didn't feel so good around 330 this mornin, and I was finkin that eatin the grasses will help me clear my froat. And while my the Mom is doin ever fing she can fink of to soove my froat, calm me, please me and help me feel better... lettin me graze like a billy goat is not of them. Just sayin.

I'm not in huge pain. I have no troubles wif the eatin or drinkin.... It just feels like I have some fing hung in the back of my froat.

My experience frew the course of this week is that once the breakfast foods have crossed my froat... and I have settled into my day... I have had no noticeable discomfort.

Once me and the Bleu settled in for our mid-day naps, the Mom set out for the GRRH Meet-N-Greet at Orvis Westheimer.

Meet Marley... who is a "she", for sure. This gorgeous Golden Mix girl has learned tons of commands in a very short time.

So if you're looking for a fun lovin 40 pound girl wif the silky hairs, smart as a whip... Marley is your girl!

And also, here is the Odetta! What a petite and adorably cute girl!!! She is a love bug! Any home that she chooses to join... will be blessed, on a counta she is full o the sweetness!

It was hard to see LA Buddy today. We've said so many prayers on his behalf... and just cannot understand why he has not found his Forever Family. Why... just look at this handsome boy! All that, and he's a star Graduate of GRRH Finishin School!

And drum roll, please... Meet Miss Phoebe! I fink she might have made an appearance here before, but she has had a makeover! She has lost a LOT of weight, her furs are growin out, and she has been wif a trainer who has made incredible progress wif socialization skills!

Not only is she incredibly gorgous wif the classic Golden qualities... but she behaved like a perfect little lady today!!!

Day 882: Fursday Wif The Bliss And Firty-Five Percent Pout

Today was another gorgeous day wif the bright sunshine, beautiful bleu skies and a high of mid 60s! I fink in the description of Total Bliss... these are requisites!

And me and the Bleu do enjoy our time, millin about...

And shnoofin the squirrel trails...

And we even watched wif excitement as a pair of em ran the power line!

It really IS hard to be inside all day, watchin these little terrorists have their way wif my yard and my pecans.

It is is an atrocity of the worst kind, and I feel the need to sort of point it out to the Mom... they were here and here and here... O! And also there! Just sayin.

They even perch themselves on the patio chairs and leave pecan shells to prick and poke the patooty of all who absent-mindedly sit in those chairs! They tease me in that way...

Enough of the trackin, I'm ready for the in-of-door pleasures! [Great shot of My Angel Kiss, Mom!]

My the Mom had dinner plans (out) tonight. And I picked up on the subtle clues pretty quickly.

I wouldn't say that I engaged a full pout, but maybe about a 35% one!

I mean... On the one paw, I want her here wif the me tonight and ok, all ways. And on the other, she is off to have dinner wif my Uncle Tom and Aunt Madison to... if I have eavesdropped wif the accuracy... plan a Fanksgivin Surprise.

You know how I love the Surprises, so I cut the pout back 65% from full. And once Ole Gal came home, I let bygones be bygones...

Me and the Bleu, by the way... We heard SOME fing in our yard. We have flyin squirrels, what are nocturnal... but this was some fing MUCH larger.

I fought about conductin an investigation, but decided instead to put the doggy-in-the-baff-robe frew a detailed background check.

I'm happy to report that all of the under and for that matter over cover discoveries are totally delightful wif the good lovin and suckin.

I've had a bit of discomfort today, but it has had no effect on my Zest and Happiness. One of the new traditions I love is that I get a dollop of pumpkin for dessert... even after breakfast foods. Sure, it helps wif the tummy upset after a busy day away from home, includin those I spend wif my Aunt Isphesia... but it also really soothes my froat. And makes me feel special.

The Bleu gets a dollop, too... on a counta he likes dessert and feelin special, teu! Not comin from a judgmental place... but Big Boy can also use the fiber. Just sayin. But I digress...

I'm SO grateful for Team Luke! When I have a rough day, The Love Protocol lifts My Spirit!!!

Day 881: Happy Wednesday Wif Some Surveyin and Hint of Hoardin!

I am all ways so excited when my the Mom comes home... mostly on a counta I love her so much, and less (but substantial still) to do wif how much I like to be outside surveyin my territory, monitorin my perimeter and the whatnot!

Really and truly, it is in that order... I am a ~~Smart~~ Sweet Boy and will not change my story on a counta it is the troof.

Love my the Mom, first.

Need her to help me do ever fing I want to do plus serve the dinner foods, second frew seventy-fif.

Just sayin.

Here is how I look when I am still surveyin... but my belly is touchin my backbone!

I look at this pitcher and see 'famished'. My the Mom look at it and see 'Sweet Handsome Boy Chock Full O The Cuteness'. I guess that's why she is THE Mom!

Standard time. It's gettin dark. I've paid a visit to Comet's toy box (under the sofa table, in My Bunker Annex)... twice! First, I came out wif the Lammy bounty. Next, I came out wif the Doggy-Baby-In-A-Robe!

You have no idea what kinda good lovin is goin right here.

Right now!

And after yesterday, I know you are all feelin sorry for the Bleu. He is, again, in his favorite spot in the house. Just beyond the doorway is his favorite bone pillow... and off the corner of the bed, you will see just ONE of our toy baskets.

Big Boy play wif the toys at different times than I do. And he much prefer a stick to a stuffy, any day of the week... but since the Mom read Nigel's PSA (over at Life Wif Dogs), the sticks are discouraged BIG TIME.

Caution: Serious lovin goin on!

I had to investigate what the Mom was doin in the kitchen, and as I follow her back... I notice the Bleu's Bleu Birfday Dragon on the Den Floors... and I whisk him too to the big bed!

Surrounded by the lovins, I cannot decide which I love more... And my the Mom take this pitcher to show me and the Bleu artistic renderin in the background... Her Sweet Lovins!

Workin it. Very seriously workin it.

And for those of you who track the big frog... He's in there, too!

~~I'm not sure what I'll do~~ When the Mom comes to the big bed, it will be time to kick a few babies to the bedroom floors... roll over and give her the belly! I'll give her a few minutes to enjoy the lovin... and then I'll retreat to the floors, too! It's what I do!

Day 880: Feelin Great Wif A Itty Bitty Chicky

I am happy to report that I feel great today! I had kind of a restless night last night, and the Mom was apprehensive to leave me this mornin (heh heh), but I had a great day and am feelin pretty darn good!

I even sorted frew the Comet's toy box that I recently discovered under the sofa table (aka my Bunker Annex) and pulled out this Itty Bitty Chicky.

IBC makes for some good after dinner relaxation, on a counta you know... I do love me some fing special to suck on, and I am not ashamed.

What was the Bleu doin? Well, he was right under my feet, on the floor at the end of the bed.

He look pitiful, but that is HIS favorite spot... and Big Boy is surrounded by the fousands of toys. He do not need the Itty Bitty Chicky. Not now. Just sayin.

I know you are shocked that I have not posted a hunnerd pitchers of me outside... trust me, we did take some! This time change has really made a big difference in how many turn out worf gazin upon... but this one is blurry on a counta the photographic brilliance...

I'm not sure there has ever been a more gorgeous day. The high was mid 60's, the sky a brilliant blue and the clouds were minimal but strikin... though who can look at the sky when the squirrels have been havin their way wif my yard!

The Mom took this pitcher as the Bleu *flashed* us!!!

And here is me whiskin past... as you guessed, hopin that the dinner foods will be served post-haste. Chop chop!

Day 879: Treatment Day 4 In The History Books!

Here I am trotting up to the SLVS for my 4f and Final Treatment Day! There is a skip in my step on a counta I am finkin of this as Graduation Day... and also on a counta I am so much lighter than normal (wifout the breakfast foods in my belly)...

Of course, I felt obliged to stop and check my pmail and do a bit of business of my own. You will note the new trash receptacle in the top left portion of the next photo... and you may consider this The Luke Wright Receptacle, on a counta the Mom used to carry a bag of business in every time I visit their fine establishment! And I'm pretty sure they installed this container for that reason...

Lots of smells out here... and ok, maybe a little heal draggin. Not much. Just a little.

I've learned to plop down while the Mom checks me in. I behave pretty well... well, except for last week when that kitteh cat came from around the corner!

Not sure what that squiggly fing in the photo is... but this is my best "Are you really goin to leave me here?" face! I pouted just a little, but then Sweet Lauren came around to show me some lovin... and next fing you know...

I am dressed in a new autographed bandanna... and the Mom along wif my the Aunt Karen are whiskin me out to the trolley for our trip home! My the Mom got teary and kinda choked up as Aunt Karen read what was written on my new scarf!

I've told you about Treatment Day before, so you know what I'm waitin on... Food and another inch of water!!!

I stood in this doorway while the Mom made excuses like "wait for your tummy to settle from the car ride" and "just a few more minutes", etc. etc.

Gosh. I look famished.

Know why? Cause I am!

It is a dark, dreary day so all of my photos turned out dark and dreary (and blurry). Some of it was the Mom's brilliant photographic genius... but most of it was just the day.

The Mom didn't pick up the Bleu's bowl right away, so I gave it a good lickin and then stood (ok, laid) guard!

As I settled in for a nap, I let the Mom take my bandanna off to take pitchers. I just love it... Don't you???

I wish you could have seen my the Mom's face when I came around the corner wif this sweet scarf round my neck. She all ways drops to hug and smooch me, but today she had a extra wide smile... and the emotions welled up, I could tell!

Lauren and Mitzi take very good care of me. I am very sweet on them, and while I don't want to seem presumptuous... I fink they are sweet on me, too!

And then there's Doctor Novosad... He's smart and kind, and he really looks out for my best interest. I'm grateful to him for all he's done, and especially for the way he's treated my the Mom. You might not know this about her... but she can be a bit of a basket case when it comes to the healf and welfare of her Sweet Boy. It takes a special kind of Doctor to deal wif her nerves. Just sayin.

Uncle Tom and Aunt Karen have been SO supportive frew this entire experience. I don't fink my the Mom would have made it wifout them! They have been wif us ever step of the way...

And Aunt Karen helped us express our gratitude and love to All of Our Friends at SLVS... Coy, Sicily, Lauren, Mitzi, Doctor N... and all of the others!!! She made a batch of her famous Aunt Karen Cookies, and we left them behind this afternoon (much to my dismay) when I was discharged!

You remember the Aunt Karen cookies... She made them to celebrate My First 100 Days! And here is a pitcher of me, tryin to convince my the Mom that they were for ME! [By the way, we were livin 100% in the bedroom and outside durin those days, after Ike... wifout the tricity].

I am SO lucky. I have Team Luke. And I have the Love Protocol. Your support lifts my spirits, and I feel your positive energy and love. From the bottom of my sweet heart, I fank you so very much!

And here's a sneak peak of a future post. You see... My the Aunt Karen came over tonight to celebrate the Bleu's Birfday. And included in the gift was this most awesome Bleu Dinosaur Dragon that the Bleu really loves!!! I had a hard time concealin my joy and interest and excitement, but I did restrain myself [wif the "help" of my the Mom]...

We all love the Aunt Karen, and the Mom walked her out to her car to tell her how much fun we had and to fank her once more. And when the Mom come back inside... here is what she found:

Day 875: Day Of Remembrance And Celebration!!!

Today is Veterans Day, and I would like to express my honor and gratitude for all who have who have served in the United States Armed Forces. I tip my hat and raise my flag in honor of My the Mom's very special Daddy [Air Force man who taught my the Mom what love really is...]

It is also the Bleu's Birfday!!!

I plan a Surprise Birfday Party For The Big Boy!!!

Day 874: [Not Really Even Close To] Wordless Wednesday

Most excellent surprise when the Mom came home at 2pm!!!

Me and the Big Boy, in spite of the dreary and drizzlin skies, were happy to conduct some businesses!

I surveyed all the corners of the yard and then had enough of the drizzle...

Please to the Mom, twist the nob and push open the door. Hint Hint. Nudge Nudge.

Wif the joy in all our hearts, she did!!! But then...It was a disappointment when Ole Gal leave us just firty minutes later...

And an awful surprise when the Mom arrived back home two and a half hours LATER THAN USUAL!!! I was NOT happy, and I gave her a wee bit of the cold shoulder. Just sayin.

O yeah, she's full of the excuses. You see, my the Mom is an architect, and from time to time when she finks we need the extra green papers... she seeks out extra aka 'moonlight' work. Allegedly... that is why she was late gettin home tonight.

The fact that she come home wif the unfaifful smells of the Biscuit and Humphrey (i.e. golden retriever and golden retriever mix)... is mere coincidence. So the Mom says...

Day 873: Bleu Skies And Cont'ails

All the talk today is about cont'ails... I'm not sure what it's all about, but I do have quite a few of my own:

The sky was like a spider's web, and there were planes zippin all over the skies. Skies like this make my the Mom a little nervous.

I tell the Mom that the skies are no busier than normal... It just has ever fing to do wif the atmospheric conditions.

And on a pretty day like this wif the bleu skies, I fink the most newsworthy t'ails are those held high wif the happiness.

Now that was a big huge t'ail they show the news, but when placed in proper perspective... was not so grandiose, after all!

For big, huge grandiose t'ail...I present to you, the Bleu!!!

Day 872: Treatment Day 3 In The History Books!

In case you wonder how I'm feelin... Here is me about fifteen seconds after I got home, as I chase a squirrel across the yard and leave the Bleu in my proverbial dust! Just sayin.

And to commemorate the occasion, my the Mom was on a roll of photographic brilliance... wif most of the pitchers dark and/or blurry!

Flip on your light switch, and I fink you can see that I'm still in my harness. [My the Mom doesn't use my collar for any fing more than decoration since my froat has raised issues].

If you could read the one fing on my mind in this pitcher, it would be: FEED ME!!!

And gosh you're good, on a counta I was served the most delicious half order of dinner foods ever known to a golden retriever. I gobbled them up. They had no chance of escapin. No, none whatsoever.

And I also foroughly enjoyed an inch of the Miracle Waters. And now here's...

The Bleu says he's happy I'm home.
Really.
He is.

It's so nice to be home. I'm not even jokin... To be able to lay down here or there, to be shmugglin or to be restin independently... so many variables, so many choices. And that's what I love about home!

Of course, there is also business to tend to... and this blog post is job one! Just sayin.

Most times I paw my own posts... but I fink on Treatment Days, a Sweet Boy should be able to lean on a secretarial assistant (in this case and aka the Mom)!

Update: The Sweet Sophie's surgery went well, and she will be reunited with her family as soon as possible tomorrow. Fank you for your prayers and well wishes!!!
